Today we’re revisiting The Mad Grad Student’s Missing Letter Mondays. This week’s challenge? Absolutely no As.

“If you were only allowed to give your children one piece of advice, what would that be?”
And we’re off!
Hmmm…only one? Only one piece of counsel for my kids? Sheesh. For a wordy mom like me this is pretty close to impossible.
I try to keep it short and sweet, kind of like the “five or less” rule – the guideline for keeping things simple so students don’t get overwhelmed with long lists of “don’t” rules.
Five or less…it forces you to get to the point.
If I were to send my kids out into the world with only one piece of wisdom, it would be this: be true to yourself. (I know this sounds trite but it’s still my first choice.)
My precious children:
We feel so blessed by your presence here. Your essence is pure; your spirit true. You’ve been gifted to the world to do incredible things.
We see you excited…joyful…full of curiosity. Your young eyes glowing bright with wonder inspire us to be our better selves.
When you feel lost, simply be still. Listen to your inner voice. Let it guide your choices so you’re true to yourself…everything else will follow.
