puzzle pieces

Human beings are complex creatures.  There are so many facets to someone’s personality, aspects that are affected by biology and culture and personal experiences.  A million pieces knit together to make a personality…so what happens when one of them’s missing?

As I’ve often pointed out when it comes to my own stuff, only one person fully understands the landscape of their own mind.  And that’s the person living the experience.

Which is why I found it incredibly helpful to talk with someone who’d been adopted as a child. She was able to speak so eloquently about what it’s like…that even when you’re part of a caring family, raised by parents who love you unconditionally, there’s still a part of you that’s lost.  That it will always feel like there’s a piece missing.

Join Forever Family tomorrow to talk about the missing piece in our children’s lives.
