gratitude: fuzz therapy

There are few things quite as relaxing as watching the dogs sleep.

Their breathing slows, long and deep, their sides rising and falling like ocean swells.

Gentle snores make their escape into the room, a sign of dogs deep in repose.

Paws twitching as they dream of the chase – birds or deer or each other – fast as the wind in their sleep.

There’s something precious about their complete vulnerability in those moments.  The way their faces relax wholly into their rest.  The absolute trust they place in us while they slumber.

These dogs are precious.  We give them our hearts, and they give us theirs in return.

My post as part of Colline’s The Gratitude Project.
