Being different can be hard.

It’s all well and good for the adults to preach about the virtue of diversity…how boring the world would be if we were all the same…our differences make us special…and on and on it goes.  But kids?  Kids usually want to fit in with their peers, especially in these tween years.

Sometimes kids prefer to fly under the radar, something that’s difficult to do when your differences have landed you smack dab in the spotlight.  And there are times when school throws a hot white light on every little detail in a student’s life.

We’ve dealt with the “student of the week” assignments, and as the kids got older I was waiting for the other shoe to drop (homework-wise).  Last month it happened.  And it was rough.

Join Forever Family tomorrow to talk about adopted students in the academic world.
