It’s been a long and winding road.  One that stretched for miles, really…up hills and into valleys, across deserts and mountains, through snow covered fields and along the coast until a glowing horizon finally signaled day’s end.

It’s Election Day in America.  Amen, hallelujah, pass the butter beans.

No matter where you stand on this decision – firmly behind either candidate, voting for one to block the other, or refusing to vote entirely – the last month has brought us all solidly onto the same page: we’re done.  Finished.  Finito.  (And they thought we’d never agree on anything.)

I haven’t spoken to a single person who’s said I just wish we had more time to study the candidates or We really need at least one more debate.  We’ve heard enough.  We’ve heard more than enough. Shoot, most of us have begun hearing these voices in our sleep.

There’ve been angry exchanges – accusations made and charges levied – and for several months now hotter heads have prevailed, but we’re ready to cross the finish line.  One way or another, America will elect a new leader today.

It’s all done but the ballot casting and counting.

So it’s time for everyone who feels passionately about this election to show up.  Speak your piece with your vote, then pull together to get our country out of this election cycle quagmire and on with the business of living.
