What is your favorite smell?  What memory does it remind you of?

Freshly baked sweet bread.  My mom used to make the most amazing bread – it was a braided loaf drizzled with white icing, and we’d devour it in two days flat.  A piece of that heavenly baked deliciousness was worth its weight in gold.

What type of pet do you have or want to have?

We have two dogs that love us beyond reason and are loyal to a fault.  The only thing I’d want is another dog, but BrightSide’s not a fan of that idea.

Are you usually late, early, or right on time?

Kids have changed this for me.  I used to be early – not crazy early, but I’d get places about 10-15 minutes before I needed to.  Once the kids came along, though, the schedule tightened down.  Even with allowing extra time for their pace we’d still find ourselves screeching into driveways with a minute to spare.  Now that T-man and Bear are older you’d think I’d be better at this, but I’m still a right on time girl.

For recharging, would you rather meditate, swim, walk, listen to music, write, read, yoga, qigong, other?

I’d say reading wins out in this list.  It’s the perfect way for me to unplug and feel refreshed, plus it usually leads to a nap.  If I’m doing something I don’t truly love (i.e. emptying the dishwasher, folding laundry, cleaning) then music always makes it better.  Uplifting, singable, danceable music that makes me smile.

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week we finished the house painting, hallelujah, amen.  It’s pretty amazing what a difference clean walls make.

This week we’re slowing reclaiming our house, cleaning up the dust and hanging the pictures.  I even managed to get some Christmas decorations out.  It’s a nice feeling.
