Would you rather live where it is always hot or always cold?

Always hot.  That’s not to say I wouldn’t complain when the heat is insanely high, but there’s no way I could function where it’s always cold.

Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?

A bit of hedging here…I prefer long(ish) hair.  It controls the curl better – as in I actually have some curl as opposed to big puffy frizz.  And even though I wish I could rock a short haircut I think the longer ones are more flattering.

What is your favorite month of the year?

May.  Even though the pollen is destroying me daily, it’s gotta be May.  The weather is getting warmer but isn’t excruciatingly hot yet.  The birds are taking care of their nests, butterflies are making things much more colorful, the kids are outside enjoying the sunshine.  Everything just feels so much more…alive.  Plus T-man and Bear both came to us in May, so it’s an extra blessed month.

What is the easiest way for you to learn something new?  By reading, by seeing and doing, in a classroom?

I learn best by doing.  I can go somewhere dozens of times, but until I drive it myself it’s hit or miss whether I can remember how to get there.  For things that don’t fall into this category (like that history class I struggled through in college) I try to force a muscle memory by writing.  When I studied I would copy important dates or create organizational charts to help make connections.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week was a bit rough.  I spent half of it sick with who knows what – all I know is it knocked me on my butt for four days straight.  So I guess I’m grateful that my schedule was flexible enough for me to check out long enough to feel better.  I was especially grateful that I was well on the mend before BrightSide left town for the weekend.

This week is busy.  I’m sorry, that doesn’t quite convey it – this week is BUSY.  Teacher appreciation all week long, a couple of appointments (some of which might need juggling), softball games, and planning for Bear’s birthday sleepover on Friday.  Jesus, take the wheel.  Frankly, I’m looking forward to checking all these things off my list and rolling back into a less frantic pace.
