My shopping experiences with Bear have born a greater resemblance to marathons than sprints.  The girl’s never met a store she didn’t want to browse, and the concept of window shopping eludes her.  Every aisle, sometimes twice, running commentary the whole time.

What can I say?  The girl loves to shop.

Except a single glorious experience when it came to back to school shoe shopping.

Disclaimer:  This single glorious experience resulted from Bear not feeling well, so she was particularly motivated to get in, get out, get home.  Do I feel terrible about that?  Yes.  Was I still extraordinarily grateful not to spend two hours in the Nike outlet?  Yes.  Yes, I was.

Bear knew she wanted Nikes so at least the store options was already limited.  She needs a stabilizing shoe, so that cut down the options even further.  But then, as we were walking toward the shelves, Bear announced she wanted a black and white shoe.

Uh oh.  What were the odds we’d find a shoe that met all those criteria?

Then the clouds parted, the angels sang, and a Nike employee appeared who led us to exactly that: a stabilizing running shoe, in black and white, that came in Bear’s size, that she loved right off the bat.  Whaaa??

In and out in twenty minutes.  BOOM.  Gotta love when that happens.
