“I am convinced that most people do not grow up…We marry and dare to have children and call that growing up. I think what we do is mostly grow old. We carry accumulation of years in our bodies, and on our faces, but generally our real selves, the children inside, are innocent and shy as magnolias.”
– Maya Angelou
Great pictures. It’s always fun looking through old pictures.

You were there all along ❤ I think it's a good quote for generations.

Beautiful to think the kernel of the now-me has always been deep inside. 🙂

Just because we grow old doesn’t mean we have to grow up. Maya was a wise woman. Old photos are great to peruse, especially when you can compare them to today. So much, yet so little has changed! 😀

Old photos are some of my favorites. The kids are (amusingly) surprised to be confronted with proof I was once a second grader, and I look at their toddler pics and remember every single moment.

My kids laugh to see me with hair. The youngest has never known me with it. It’s fun, too, to compare kid pictures with our kids’ kid pictures. Sometimes the similarities are striking.

Yep, the child in us lives on…if we are lucky. Sweet photo collection.

Thank you, van. Sometimes I’m still surprised to look up and realize *I’m* the adult…funny how that works.

And once your kids grow up and move out, you get to be that child again…it’s pretty special !!
