I’ve lost my funny, you guys.
It tiptoes around the edge of my consciousness like the wisp of a dream I can’t quite remember. Bits of ideas, a sentence or two, but nothing I can grab onto with two hands. Nothing that turns into a paragraph, let alone a blog post.
I got a big fat nothing.
I’ve been pretty sick for the last week or so – gotta love those sinus things that morph into full on ugly – but it’s more than going through a box of tissues every other day. It feels like the solemn has dug in deep and settled in the pit of my stomach.
It seems like day after day of disaster. Riots in our cities, terrorist attacks across the world. Flooding, hurricanes, people whose lives have been torn apart. A country where some people enjoy more equal rights than others, and then yesterday’s news that we had yet another mass shooting on our hands.
I stood on that street with my kids this summer. I pictured them and I pictured the mayhem, and I just checked out.
Time to work on righting my world again.
Peace of mind is the people I call home. Because God knows this world ain’t giving me anything these days.

I know I’ve lost my funny – it was dwindling before, but yesterday kicked it right out of my system. We don’t seem to learn anything from anything, we just keep bumbling along, repeating mistakes over and over and over. Really?! What possible reason can there be for any civilian person to have automatic weapons? And 23 in a hotel room, 18 more at home? Really?! It is sick, sick, sick. I am weary.

We are all so weary. I try to listen to Glennon Melton on these days& be gentle with myself.

It is tough these days, seems like so many bad things (both natural disasters and the man made variety) have been coming at us, one after the other. I do hope you feel better soon, I have more faith in your immune system to kick this bug than I do in the world Karma right now!

World karma definitely needs a boost.

Hang in there, staying positive is hard but necessary. And I hope your sinuses get better, I’m sure that will help.

We all understand. I “checked out” yesterday, nothing to say, too much to feel. Spent a lot of time with my dog outside, it was energizing.

Hope you feel better soon! It’s a crazy mixed up world we live in. I’m hopeful that it will get better before it gets worse. I’m not so sure, though…

I think a lot of us are feeling that way right now.

Sending you positive energy, hugs & chicken soup for your soul!
Hope you feel better soon and find your funny again! (I don’t watch/read/or have much to do with the news these days; it makes me too sad)

It’s so hard to stay positive. But, you do that, too, for your kids.

I try to. I hope they have more memories of me being positive than getting bummed out.
