Life is about celebrating all the things, don’t you think? Big, little, everywhere in between – if we don’t do the happy dance as often as possible, well, then we’re missing out on a lot of chances to dance. And I’m all about some dancing. Just ask my kids.
So I don’t wanna brag, but…
1. Nine times out of ten I can securely wrap the cord around my hair dryer without hitting myself in the head. A 90% success rate? I’ll take that.
2. It’s been at least six months since I’ve had to induce vomiting in my dog. Knock on wood. Seriously, everybody – you know Gracie – knock on wood right now. Thanks.
3. I finally learned how to make a hard boiled egg. Which means there’s hope for anybody in the kitchen.
4. I’ve reached 100% unflappability when it comes to dancing publicly in front of my kids. As a matter of fact, the more they protest, the harder I jam.
5. We have the only golden retriever I know who reeks of salmon at twenty paces.
6. I discovered Rockports. Apparently they are old people shoes. They are also Rock Solid Comfortable. LIT.
7. I can strike horror in the kids with six simple words uttered in front of their friends: “Do you remember that time when…”
8. My dogs could compete in synchronized snoring at the Olympic level. Also in riotous barking at invisible mail carriers. They’re overachievers.
9. T-man and Bear have successfully transitioned into doing their own laundry, if you measure “successful” by “me not doing their laundry every week.” Which I do. Clothes not getting clean in a timely manner? Sounds like a personal problem to me.
10. In the last two months I’ve learned how to cook tasty tilapia, salmon, broccoli, snow peas, carrots, and the perfect turkey burger. Not too shabby for eight weeks’ time.
Well I LOL’d at “I discovered Rockports. Apparently they are old people shoes. They are also Rock Solid Comfortable. LIT.” Cause you’re like, I wear old people shoes, but I also say Lit. LOL
I love Rockports and I’ll have you know I bought my first pair at 21 so there! I am a good person and I deserve comfortable shoes.
Also really like the dancing bit. Three of us dance in public, the other three are mortified, and yes, we’ll dance harder just to aggravate the others. 🙂

I am just That Cool. 😂
Oh, and using the word Lit horrifies the kids, too.

Preach. They have the best boots — I’d been searching for ankle boots for TWO YEARS & found them there. Can’t remember the last pair of shoes with heels I happily wore, but these? How is it possible I look nice but don’t feel like my feet are dying…

What size are you?

9 1/2 these days, though I did have to buy my slides in a 10 last summer. Apparently shoe size changes when you get older! 🤔

9.5 here too! I have a pair of rockports that I am not wild about the color, you want me to see if I can dig them up and ship them to you?

What? Well, that’d be awesome…let me know if you find them!

I’ve noticed that shoe size increasing thing too. What’s with that anyway? I had a pair of Rockport sneakers years ago, but for some treason they’ve fallen off my radar, and I cheerfully qualify for that old people thing. I will knock each morning for Gracie. If I can remember. Sadly my rememberer is wearing out.

Hubby told me once that it was gravity over time. That we get shorter as we age because our spinal cords compress, and it’s the same thing that flattens and spreads feet. It was a rather unattractive description so I chose to ignore it at the time, but now that I’m up half a size…well…

If “old” means “comfortable” than I’ll gladly be old every day. Though I don’t have Rockports, I love my Doc Martins. I knocked on wood, too.

Good grief, yes. Life’s too short to have achy feet.
(And thanks for the knock!)

Just repeating what I’ve been told. Did I mention we have a Rockport outlet store 15 minutes from our house? Guess where all my stocking money went this year? 😆
