If you were given $22 million tax free dollars (any currency), what is the first thing you would do? (This is just a dream question, remember anything can happen in SYW.)

Get a pedicure. While having my toes prettied up I’d dream about all the things suddenly within reach – paying off the house and cars (I know, I’m making BrightSide proud) and setting aside enough money for the kids’ school expenses. Then I’d get to daydream about fun stuff like extended family vacations, donations to our favorite charities, and Broadway show extravaganzas.

In what do you find the simplest of joys?

Listening to my kids laugh, having a dog by my side, and watching the birds visit our feeder.

What would be your ideal birthday present, and why?

A weekend getaway at an all inclusive resort. I love who we are when our family gets away from everything – I may joke about our nutty but T-man, Bear, and BrightSide are actually quite fun to be around. Why the all inclusive? a) We have a tween and teen, b) it’s liberating to leave your wallet in the safe, and c) we have a tween and teen.

My friend told me the migratory patterns were predicted to be high last week and she was so right. I had the best time watching oodles of birds visit our feeder and makeshift birdbath (I’m sure the dogs don’t mind that I’ve commandeered one of their bowls). Folks who follow me on Instagram probably thought I spent hours at my kitchen table taking bird pics…well, I guess they wouldn’t be wrong.
