If you were to pack a basket for picnic lunch, what would be in your basket?
It would probably be a medley. Water bottles, a handful of almonds, apples, mozzarella string cheese, and a mixed salad. If I’m in the mood for something substantial I’d include a turkey burger or piece of grilled chicken.
On a vacation what you would require in any place that you sleep?
A bed. (Just kidding. Sort of. I’ve camped out a few times so technically I’ll sleep somewhere without a bed, but it’s fair to say sleeping bags aren’t my friend. Toss-toss-toss-turn, nap 30 minutes, repeat. Ugh.)
If I can ease up on “require” and instead make it “really really want to have” then the list is longer: windows, a pillow, the ability to make the space dark, accessible outlets for charging my phone/computer/watch (hello! who puts those dang outlets behind headboards, anyway?!), and a bedside table with a lamp so I can read until I’m sleepy.
That wasn’t terribly diva after all.
If you were to buy a new house/apartment what is the top three items on your wish list?
A view of the water, a sunroom/screened in porch where I can listen to the birds while I drink my coffee, and a bathroom exactly like the one we have now.
What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
So I may have gotten my tender snowflake feelings hurt last month when someone-who-shall-remain-nameless made fun of my jiggly belly when I was laughing poolside. (No, not BrightSide, because the man has way more sense than that.) It seriously crushed my attitude for the afternoon. Geez Louise, get a grip, Laura.
But last week we were hanging out on the couch when T-man stretched out and laid his head on – you guessed it – my belly. BrightSide cocked an eyebrow at him and asked if he was waiting for me to laugh, to which the boy replied he was hoping. Of course that made me snicker. Jiggling belly = jiggling head = riotous giggles which only made me laugh harder. It was a vicious giggly cycle and by the end tears (the good kind) were streaming down my face.
All of which tells me I need to lighten the hell up. And yeah, maybe do some sit ups, but mostly lighten the hell up.
I’m a bit tardy for Cee’s Monday Share Your World questions. Better late than never!
Hi! A day with my friends makes me smile. Just made a 2nd post on friendship and a picnic would be nice! Don’t worry about the jiggles everyone has it in real life 🙂

I am old enough now I would want a pop up tent trailer or RV for camping. I still vote for the pop up trailer because I love the sound of rain on the canvas. Thanks for sharing. 😀

Ah, rain on a roof is the best sound ever!

I’m working on getting over my self-consciousness about my old-age girth increase, which includes saddlebags and what I have been looking at as a pregnant belly – I think I like the term “jiggly” better. It’s not like I’m trying to impress anyone, so why on earth does it bother me? I’ll just blame it on society.

Amen. I’m finding it hard to give up decades long expectations I’ve had for myself…crazy stuff. Embrace the jiggle! 😆
