If aliens landed on earth tomorrow and offered to take you home with them, would you go? (remember this is SYW, they are friendly aliens)

Because this is SYW where anything goes, I’m rolling with two alternate universe scenarios. I guess I’m feeling like a rebel today.

yes – If aliens landed on earth, and I actually encountered them, and they wanted me to visit their planet then I’d have to believe it was happening for a reason. I guess I’d have to go on faith that it would be a short visit because I’ve got a lot of good stuff going on and wouldn’t want to leave my life here behind.

no – Dude. Go to space? I get seasick floating on a perfectly still lake. There’s no way I’d want to spend any amount of time in zero gravity. Plus I wouldn’t want to leave my family.

How tall are you? Are you satisfied with your height?

This is harder to answer than seems reasonable. I’ve always said I was 5′ 5 ½”. My whole life I’ve been 5′ 5 ½”. That extra ½” was important. Somewhere along the way I’ve started losing height, but in amounts so incremental it’s hard to track. I guess I’m probably about 5′ 5″ now and I’m okay with that.

Do you think you could live without your smartphone (or other technology item) for 24 hours?

For a long time this would have been a solid no. I think I could do it now. The only thing that gives me pause is we don’t have a landline so my cell is the only way to reach me and, y’know, kids.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I watched a group of kids really step up to the plate last week. Tweens and teens who in their regular lives are, well, tweens and teens rose to the occasion. They got to their meetings and devotions on time. They came prepared to their sites and worked hard through long, hot days. They were polite and respectful and often stopped to ask if I needed help when they saw me working on something.

These kids, y’all. They’re doing good work in the world.
