What’s your go-to for unwinding after a stressful event or day?   Can be someone or something – music, pets, family or whatever you choose.

I always feel better after I write, or if I don’t I know it’s time to bring out the big guns. Loving on the dogs, putting on really soft pajamas, a hot shower, jamming out to the right music – it might take one, it might take a combination, but these are usually enough to get me back on track.

The plane you’re flying in is going to crash, no survivors.  If you had one song you could listen to before it happens, what would it be?  (credit toNewEpicAuthor for this one).  Please share the link to the song if you can.

Damn, that’s a depressing thought. Mostly because the idea of going down in a plane knowing I’m going to die – waiting for it – is a stressful. Or maybe I’d be all zen about it, who knows?

At any rate, this is my song:

What is one thing you’re really, really good at and not ashamed to admit it?  I worded that deliberately because aren’t we taught to be humble and not pushy about our achievements?  Celebrate your ability!

I am really, really good at listening when friends have a problem.

Would you rather lose all of your money and valuables or all of the pictures you have ever taken?

This was harder to answer than I expected, probably because all the valuables that came to mind have sentimental value. The jewelry from my mom and grandma, the pieces BrightSide has given me over the years – losing those would hurt. But in the end I decided I could live without those more easily than if I were to lose my photos. Pictures I have of the kids while they were young are priceless, and now that mom’s gone I can’t imagine not having those photos of her around.

What were you grateful for or something that made you smile during the past month?

I sat on a dock under a blue, blue sky. There was a light breeze and the sound of water lapping against the dock was so peaceful – I actually managed to forget everything for awhile. Do you know how rare it is that the wheels stop spinning in my head? I do. It was a pretty spectacular gift. I’m also beyond grateful to have reached 2,000 followers on Riddle from the Middle. I appreciate every single one of you more than you’ll ever know.
