If you open up a Google search window you’ll see two boxes beneath the subject field, “Google Search” and “I’m Feeling Lucky.” Let’s see what happens when we tell them how lucky I feel. Ooh, look! It’s like spinning the giant wheel of fortune!
Spin 1: “I’m Feeling Artistic”
Moonrise over the Sea by Caspar David Friedrich, 1822
At first I was like um, okay, so there’s art on here. Like art, art. I guess this falls under the cool internet resources in the arts category.
Spin 2: “I’m Feeling Generous”
Google One Today.
Apparently Google developed a philanthropic app. It uses photos and summaries to show how just $1 can make an impact in the world. An app that promotes generosity? Hmm.
Spin 3: “I’m Feeling Hungry”
Okay, I’m not linking this one because I’m a little wigged out it just pulled up a list of restaurants near my home. Love you, mean it, but I think we’ll skip that level of looping you into my life.
Spin 4: “I’m Feeling Curious”
“What’s in disposable diapers – and are they safe for your baby?”
a) Don’t wanna know, b) never wanna know, and c) my kids made it through just fine, thanks.
Spin 5: “I’m Feeling Adventurous”
A whole page full of breathing exercises for stress management and relaxation.
Bwahahahaha!!
Spin 6: “I’m Feeling Playful”
I won’t lie, I was a little nervous hitting spin on this one because the internet but it linked me to a strange little animation of the Google search screen. It’s not exactly my idea of playful but whatevs.
Spin 7: “I’m Feeling Curious”
“How much is 20 pounds of quarters worth?”
Well, damn, I do want to know how much 20 pounds of quarters is worth. Thanks, Google.
Say, wasn’t that fun. Wonder what else we can find trolling around out there…

GNATS ARE A SERIOUS PROBLEM! FRUIT FLIES ARE EVIL, Laura!
I didn’t have my usual mass murder episodes with the fruit flies this year. I think because my apple trees didn’t fruit much.
I am almost finished catching up on my WP, and I feel I do not have time to randomly Google, so I really appreciate you doing it for me.

I try to help. 🤣😂
I agree fruit flies are satan’s spawn, I’ve just never experienced them in a google-worthy quantity before. That seems bad.

Appreciate that. Just in case a time comes when you garden and grow fruit trees, and you’re like, “Remember when we didn’t have a fruit fly problem every November?” 😛

Sometimes I google myself, both as me and as “Cordelia’s Mom.” My real name never comes up with anything except for the fact that there are apparently several other people with the same name. Googling “Cordelia’s Mom”, however, brings up links to my site. Doesn’t that make me feel special?! I guess that’s why I do it.

Okay, I *love* that “Cordelia’s mom” is your digital footprint! Sometimes I’ll google myself for kicks…asked the hubby once what he found when he did it and he just blinked at me. I guess some people just don’t want to know! 😆

The best part was when I was trying to come up with a name to use as a photographer, and started googling all kinds of variations of my online personas. I wanted something more professional than “Cordelia’s Mom,” but everything I thought of came up with another photographer or studio by the same name. I think my Mom was whispering to me when I thought to use “Teddy Rosalie” – because that was the only one that came up with links to my blog, and didn’t link to some other photographer. Hopefully, that’s a good sign.

I love Teddy Rosalie! Hopefully that one will serve you well. 💛

I don’t randomly Google often enough. While I don’t like knowing that Trump’s campaign website is popular, the rest of this info is delightfully useless and therefore of interest to me. Thx.

Sometimes delightfully useless is exactly what the doctor ordered. We’d had yet another week of middle school interventions and sit downs and let’s-talk-about-what-happened-today and I was d.o.n.e. This was fun. 😉

I did have to google one of these. Curiosity got to me.

Love your post!

Every parent’s googled that one. Probably twice as many on rainy days, ten times as many during science fairs. The internet’s a glorious thing. 😆🤣😂
