Abstinence makes the heart grow fonder.
Wait. That doesn’t sound right.
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder but I’m not sure how much I buy into that one. Sure, sometimes missing somebody reminds you of all the reasons you love being around them. Then again, sometimes having someone missing reminds you how peaceful your life used to be. Careful what you wish for and all that jazz.
I was baking for the neighbor gifts yesterday – well, “baking” is generous since we opted for this delightful bit of candy clusters you can make in a freaking crock pot, for heaven’s sake. I was searching for wax paper when I realized we have no fewer than three rolls of tinfoil in our kitchen. Three! I mean, who needs that much tinfoil lying around? Apparently I thought we did. Or, more likely, I just kept forgetting we had some and would buy more. Tomato, to-mah-to.
Considering how much else we’ve got going on I’m impressed we got as far into the process as we have. There’s a bit more assembly to be done and then I can punt to the delivery committee (ie. BrightSide, T-man, and Bear) over the weekend. If I send them out like modern Little Red Riding Hoods bearing sugar rush goodies it will typically buy me a good half hour uninterrupted and that’s pure gold. I get all tingly just thinking about it.
The only thing that would make me tinglier might be biting on that tinfoil. Yikes.
Linda hosts Stream of Consciousness Saturday. This week’s prompt is “tin.” Her instructions: Use it as a word or find a word with “tin” in it, and base your post on that word. Bonus points if you start your post with that word.
