Are you thin or thick skinned? Are you easily offended or tend to let it just roll off your back like a duck does with water?
I used to be kind of thin skinned. I tried not to show it but a few harsh words were enough to derail me. These days I lean more toward the let it roll off my back crowd and I have to say I’m a lot happier for it.
How important are morals in a healthy society? What are the most important morals for citizens to have? (Credit to Rory for this question.)
I’d say morals are critical to a healthy society. Ironically, things typically blow wide open when people decide their morals are the only acceptable ones – those folks almost make me wonder if we wouldn’t be better off with a “whatever, man” approach. But I digress.
Morals like integrity, generosity, compassion, perseverance, and belief in the power of compromise can keep the peace when things are falling apart.
What will your epitaph be?
I’ve been staring at this computer for twenty minutes now and have decided the problem is trying to settle on one. Let’s just spitball this to see what sticks. Feel free to vote for your favorite or make your own suggestion in the comments.
* She lived, she loved, she left her phone charging.
* She died as she lived – full to the brim with nachos.
* Beloved by all. Except Becky. Becky thought she was a bitch.
* Devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and firm believer in karma.
(I don’t admire either/or questions much, which is why you won’t see ‘em often. Today is an exception) French toast, pancakes or waffles?
Back when I could eat it, French toast. But only if it was made with really good bread.
What were you grateful for this past week?
You guys, you’re never gonna believe this. I was sitting there working on the front door, stuck in one of those five minute blocks when I was watching wood absorb stain. Boooorrrrriiiinnnnngggg. So I opened up Facebook to scroll and happened upon the fact that ONE OF MY VERY FAVORITE PEOPLE IS COMING TO A TOWN NEAR US. T-man watched me sprint through the house and squeal like a delighted toddler after signing up for tickets to see Glennon Doyle next month. Glennon Doyle! And I get to go with my sister, too!! It just doesn’t get any better than that. This will forever be my answer when crotchety people tell me Facebook is a waste of time.

Your epitaphs were SPLENDID! Love this post, best SYW I’ve read in a long, long time! 😀
(Oh em gee, Laura, does stress bring out your best snark?!?)

Aww, thanks Joey. And yes, the snark tends to kick into overdrive under stress. I doubt it’s as delightful when you live under the same roof as me. 😆😆

She left her phone charging. That made me snort with laughter.

I don’t know what I’d want for my epitaph, but for you I’d go with the last one referencing karma. I like the Becky one, but do you really want to give that bitch the time of day for eternity?

Loved your answers enough to put these on my blog with mine… and an added question. We agree with all! 😉

Maybe it was Becky that was the bitch, not you. She’s projecting her inadequacies out into space, where Karma will bite her ass. And spit it out again. Anyway thanks Laura for Sharing Your World. And you gave possibly the best reason for Facebook. Because you can connect with people you admire or even love. 🙂

Yes yes yes. It’s the biggest reason I can’t let it go regardless of how many data screw up stories I hear…
And Becky can bite me. 😆

I love your answers. I’ve gotta think about a couple of them before I try it. Epitaph? What?

The epitaph question definitely threw me for the biggest loop.

Heh, in a similar kind of post, you’ve been tagged to participate in a “more about you” post. 🙂 https://wtfaioa.wordpress.com/2019/01/29/and-now-for-something-different-a-chain-questionnaire-getting-to-know-me/

I also have a lifelong Nemesis Becky, so the epitaphs were really right up my alley.
Beckys. Hmph!

Right? I think they should have their own compound. Just sayin.

Loved reading your post. And the selection for the grave stones is hilarious. I might borrow one of those.

Somehow I just can’t see myself with some flowery saying etched over my head for all eternity. 😆
