Do You Have Any Guilty Pleasures?
That’s so funny – we were just talking about this over breakfast on Sunday! BrightSide asked if I had any musical guilty pleasures and I stalled out for a bit with an umm…umm… I finally settled on Taylor Swift. I like most of her songs and sing along when they’re on. This feels like a bit of a guilty pleasure for someone who loved The Smiths and The Cure.
What Is The Worst Pick Up Line You Ever Heard?
Trying to answer this question really clarified my utter lack of dating experience. Or maybe it’s just been so long that my brain didn’t retain any pick up lines at all.
What Slang Or Trend Makes You Feel Old?
The sheer speed of slang changes among middle schoolers makes me feel ancient. I usually begin hearing it when the phrase has crested the hill and is about to begin a downward slide into oblivion. The most recent examples would have to be “no you” and “no caps”. Whatevs, man.
What Do You Consider The Most Over-rated Song?
Lawd, does this feel like a loaded question. As they say in the twitterverse, don’t @ me. Just add yours in the comments and keep on moving.
“I Got You Babe” (Sonny and Cher). “Ebony and Ivory” (Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder). “Gangnam Style” (PSY). “My Way” (Frank Sinatra) – yeah, I said it.
You Find A Book And Begin To Read Only To Discover That It Is Your Life. You Get To The Point That You Are At Now, Do You Turn The Page Knowing That You Will Not Be Able To Change The Events To Come?
This falls under that whole chicken-or-the-egg question. If I read the rest of the book are my choices my choices because I always would have chosen them anyway, or are they my choices because I saw the arc of my life? Or am I so befuddled by the whole existential debate that I freeze entirely and stop making choices? No thanks, I’ll just muddle through.
Sparks from a Combustible Mind hosts Share Your World.
Ironic that I’ve just posted with two of those songs in. Your cool not sure what that makes me now. Yet another life lesson.

It makes you someone with different taste in music! Just had a dinner with 2 family members talking singers. One brought up “can you believe THEY don’t like Taylor Swift” & the other one was like “it’s just music, it’s okay to have different opinions about MUSIC.” Wise words!

Hmmm, I like Taylor Swift and I’m old enough to remember when all those over-rated songs were first release and played until our ears bled.

Sounds like the overplaying hasn’t changed. 😐

Yes, yes to “Ebony and Ivory” as overrated. It’s a dumb song that never would have gone anywhere on the charts if it weren’t for who sang it. Good choice.

I’ve cringed through it, often while the person next to me oohed and aahed. Just don’t get it.

..”I’ll muddle through” …making you indeed THE Riddle In The Middle! 😉 Thanks for Sharing Your World and making me laugh aloud! It’s a nice Spring day and the fur-kids are telling me to get out in it and stop typing. So maybe I’ll do just that! 😀
