What does a successful relationship look like to you?
Trust. Commitment. Love. Being your best self when you’re with that person. Plus the occasional pizza with Ben & Jerry’s nights because pizza and Ben & Jerry’s.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning medal for?
List keeping a la Post It notes. I have no doubt I’d medal in Reminders, Organization, Legibility, Creativity, and Ability to Rescue a Post It from the Dog’s Mouth Before It’s Too Soggy to Read.
What do you wish you knew more about?
“Don’t know much about history
Don’t know much biology…” Come on, you know you’re singing along, too.
As for me – I wish I knew more about birds, interior design, cars (make, model, and how they work), plumbing, and cultures that are extremely different from my own.
What is better in your opinion – asking for forgiveness or permission?
Yikes. I’m not a fan of the word “permission” as an adult. It’s a sketchy line – do I need my husband’s permission to go out and buy a $100,000 car? Well, no…but showing up with one in the driveway would fall pretty far past the “asking for forgiveness” category. I feel like I roll with a decent moral compass, though, so most of the time I tick toward asking for forgiveness in the interest of saving time/red tape/aggravation.
What’s the best thing about your life right now?
BrightSide, hands down. (Do I get brownie points for that one, babe?) Seriously, it hasn’t been an easy spring and there is absolutely no way I’d be as (relatively) sane as I am without this guy in my corner.
Could you recover post-it notes that have been licked so badly by the dog that it’s a mass of blurred ink. I’m not sure I would even get past the pre qualifying competition – can never find the post it pad….

I could give you a run for your gold medal in post-its. I may share mine with you sometime soon.
Just you, not blogland.
Amen to a good partnership. Sometimes it is everything. ❤

I do have a special skill for the # of words I can fit on a tiny post it. My young people find short phrases confusing — apparently “recycling out” doesn’t translate into “take kitchen recycling from bin, countertops, & behind sink to the garage where you must put it IN the bin we roll to the road” without extensive prompting. 🙄

Thanks Laura for Sharing Your World. I admit to laughing aloud (and scaring the boys, who were trying to nap) at the ‘rescuing the note from a dog’s mouth before it’s too soggy to read”. Yeah. And pizza and Ben & Jerry’s? I think you’ve hit on a real fundamental to a good relationship – sharing food. 😉

We are HUGE fans of the food around here. Especially the ice cream. We’re big on ice cream. 😆

Your Olympic sport is brilliant. I want to enter the contest. I know I could get at least a bronze medal in it.
