Does life have a reason (meaning)?

Yes. I think there are times when we lose our sense of it but that’s on us.

Will the world come to an end by human hands (man’s actions)?

I believe it will. I’d like to think we’ve learned enough not to detonate it in a nuclear showdown but we’ve passed the point of no return on climate change. Any issues we address on that now can improve the environment and extend the earth’s life span but it’s too late to stop the end result.

Will stricter laws make a better world?  Would less strict laws make it better?

I hate to be wishy washy on this but I don’t know that “strict” is the language I’d use here. I think our laws need to shift to better reflect our world today. Just a few examples:

    • Voting rights for those who have served their time for a conviction (as well as making it consistent nationwide).
    • Morality laws. If we elected a repeat adulterer who’s commented on his own daughter’s attractiveness, been accused of rape by more than twenty women, separates and imprisons families, and tweets racist statements almost daily then this country holds NO credible voice when it comes to the high ground.
    • Child marriage has no place in this day and age.
    • Toplessness laws. Dozens of states consider breasts in the same category as genitalia, making public exposure criminal. Breastfeeding women should not face the threat of indecency charges.

If death is inevitable, why bother doing anything?

Because although my life will end the things I accomplish while here will live on. Legacy seems like too grand a word for my simple life, but even simple lives have lasting effects. I’d like to make a difference.

Are thoughts and prayers useful or a sop for people who wish to pay respect but interact through a virtual venue?   Yea or nay – please explain your viewpoint (without rancor) if you would.

This is a tough one. I sorta feel like the people who’ve refused over and over to pursue responsible gun control while making “thoughts and prayers” statements have killed the phrase. So I guess the actual thoughts and prayers are the most immediate kind of support you can offer someone in that much pain but I never ever use the phrase now.
