Where oh where can my baby be?
This is what jumped in my head when Linda said to start our posts off with “where”. Cue five solid minutes of wracking my brain, trying to remember where on earth this freaking phrase came from. It was that itchy, I’m-supposed-to-be-singing-this-but-what-are-the-NOTES feeling.
Imagine my surprise to find that Pearl Jam was rattling around in my head space. You remember this one, right?
To recap: it’s a top 40 hit with a catchy hook about a guy holding his girl as she dies in his freaking arms. In the middle of the street. Because rainy nights and dates gone wrong and young love and now he has to live the rest of his long, long life without his one true love.
Gee, isn’t that an upbeat diddy.
Linda hosts Stream of Consciousness Saturday. This week’s prompt is “where.” Start your post with the word “where” and write whatever comes to you. Bonus points if you end your post with “where” too. Enjoy!
Ditto what Dan said. Now that song will be playing in my internal jukebox all day.

It’s Pearl Jam because you’re not old enough to remember The Cavaliers – 1964. Thanks for bringing back a memory of hearing that song playing on the local Top-40 station.

I always thought it was a weird choice for a cover but no, I couldn’t have named The Cavaliers. Glad you enjoyed the walk down memory lane. 🙂

I always find German Death Metal is as similarly uplifting as Pearl Jam.
