What would be your solution to the over-population of the earth? Earth has finite resources and humanity seems to be breeding themselves to extinction. Some countries have tried restricting the number of children a couple or a person can have, with little success. So what other viable options are there for reducing the number of people?
Ho-ly smoke, let’s kick this off with a tough one then. Guess we’ll get started.
Overpopulation is a huge problem. We’re draining the earth’s natural resources far too quickly and damaging the environment with a steep increase in pollution production. Our effects are causing plant and animal species extinction. In short, the news is nothing but bad.
BUT. Seeing as I don’t believe it’s our place to legislate that a woman carry a pregnancy to term, it certainly isn’t our place to legislate limits on how many children a woman chooses to have. For me, all that leaves is education – a full force push to teach people why our effect on the planet should factor into their family planning decisions.
Okay, the rest will be ‘recycled’ questions. I got a Sunshine Blogger Award recently and I thought some of the questions on that post were kinda nifty. So “recycle”!
What’s invisible but you wish people could see?
Love. We can show love but I think sometimes, when somebody’s having a particularly hard day, being able to see the love surrounding them would make a world of difference.
What’s the most ridiculous fact you know?
Your thumb is one inch from the knuckle to its end. How this is true for everyone, no matter your age or height, is beyond me.
What are the unwritten rules of where you work? If you don’t work (retired or unemployed) what are the unwritten rules you live your life by?
Acceptance. Compassion. Courage. Equality. And above all, love.
How do you feel about putting pineapple on pizza?
Can’t say I’d do it but live and let live.
Toilet paper, over or under?
Under. Unless you’re in one of those public restrooms where the TP holder has a locked cover and you end up scraping your wrist when the end gets lost and you have to shove your arm up in there to find it. Then over is best.
What’s the best type of cheese?
Back in the day when I could have crackers I ate the most delicious brie once. It had been heated in the oven until it was just the right amount of gooey. Mmm. These days I love mozzarella and cheddar.
If you’d like, please share something positive, uplifting or funny from last week. We can always use some more of those things!
Both kids had a good first day at school. Technically that was yesterday but I’m exceedingly grateful for it.
Finally, another TP-Under person! I’ve been skipping a lot of posts, as I just gt back from a short vacation, but I would never skip your “share your world” post – this is why!

We’re few & far between, aren’t we! So funny, I spent years as an over & can’t remember why I converted but here we are. 😉

I like your attitude about many things but the one about pineapple on a pizza is encouraging. As someone who likes pineapple on a pizza I’ve been mocked, so I appreciate your open-mindedness on this topic. 😋

I can’t for the life of me remember if I’ve ever tried this! Weird, right? People who love it swear by it, though, so I say be happy. 🙂

And with the children in school again, a bit of peace and quiet for Mum? Thanks Laura for Sharing Your World! That Brie sounds PERFECT, but I love cheese. Because cheese. And you realize that you’re a bit of a rebel with the toilet paper answer. But difference makes for a non-boring world! 🙂

I walked into my bathroom this afternoon to find an over roll hanging & now I’m wondering who on earth used that one! 🤣

We agree, except for the toilet paper. Over. Always over.

Wanna hear something crazy? I spent over 20 years as a hardcore “over”. It caused actual discord when the hubby & I first got married, arguments over which way the tp was supposed to hang. I guess somewhere along the way I decided which way mattered less to me than the fact that a roll was on there. 😆

I’m with Carol. BUT. I’d much prefer a ‘tower’. It’s a slender iron rod (sometimes with a screw on cap) on which one can put several rolls at once. Seems a lot more sensible to me and no arguments about over or under either. And the spiders? Are fully visible!!

Ooh! Our powder room has a tower (no storage in there) & it’s the best.

I’m just looking at my thumb now. That’s spooked me. The single thing I miss the most since I’ve gone dairy free pudding is cheese. Dairy free cheddar is an abomination.

I won’t even try dairy free cheese, the very thought makes me cry. I’ve basically given up the rest of it – milk, creamer, limited ice cream – but I absolutely cannot give up the cheese.

I love these questions and my mind is blown about the thumb. And the Brie. Because cheese.

Yes, educating people is the answer.

I think so, too. You can’t make people act on the knowledge but at least having all the facts gives us a shot.
