When you’re 90 years old, what do you suppose will matter most to you?

Peace of mind. I’d hope that by 90 I’ll understand far more than I do today and, just as important, I’ll understand the importance of accepting what I don’t understand.

What’s the best way to spend a rainy afternoon?

Napping with a dog curled up behind my legs and a good book on the coffee table. I’m also a fan of Netflix or Prime – you know, for those days when I can’t quite concentrate on what I’m reading. Bestest of all is when I can spend that afternoon in my PJs.

What is one thing you don’t understand about yourself?

How a person who really doesn’t like to carry a purse can kill a good hour wandering through the Kate Spade outlet. Don’t even get me started on Michael Kors or Coach. Sheesh.

When was the last time you tried something to look ‘cool’ (hip), but it ended in utter embarrassment? Details?

No clue. I’m certain I have, but apparently it was far enough in the past that I’ve forgotten. If I had to guess it’s because we have two teens and Lord knows nothing I could ever ever do would make me “cool” to them. I suppose giving up that possibility made me lose my taste for it altogether.

One of the kids convinced us that a family Spotify account would be a good investment and now I’m hooked. I can find all sorts of stuff on there, even songs from those high school days by The Smiths and The Cure. I’ve put together a workout playlist so now I can just crank that up and hit the elliptical. Good stuff.
