When you’re 90 years old, what do you suppose will matter most to you?
Peace of mind. I’d hope that by 90 I’ll understand far more than I do today and, just as important, I’ll understand the importance of accepting what I don’t understand.
What’s the best way to spend a rainy afternoon?
Napping with a dog curled up behind my legs and a good book on the coffee table. I’m also a fan of Netflix or Prime – you know, for those days when I can’t quite concentrate on what I’m reading. Bestest of all is when I can spend that afternoon in my PJs.
What is one thing you don’t understand about yourself?
How a person who really doesn’t like to carry a purse can kill a good hour wandering through the Kate Spade outlet. Don’t even get me started on Michael Kors or Coach. Sheesh.
When was the last time you tried something to look ‘cool’ (hip), but it ended in utter embarrassment? Details?
No clue. I’m certain I have, but apparently it was far enough in the past that I’ve forgotten. If I had to guess it’s because we have two teens and Lord knows nothing I could ever ever do would make me “cool” to them. I suppose giving up that possibility made me lose my taste for it altogether.

One of the kids convinced us that a family Spotify account would be a good investment and now I’m hooked. I can find all sorts of stuff on there, even songs from those high school days by The Smiths and The Cure. I’ve put together a workout playlist so now I can just crank that up and hit the elliptical. Good stuff.

Hindsight helps. If I had that I would know how to choose from the thousands of blogs the most entertaining to follow. Challenged by years I am possibly older so I gave myself advice for when I reach 100. A Seasider Cassandra’s Musings

what the heck IS it with those super pricy handbags?
I can see the need for a purse if you want to carry a bunch of stuff around, but those brand names seem crazy to me. Is there actually anything worth it with them?

Okay, see, that’s a tough line to toe. I used to say it was a load of bull, but then I picked up a nice one at TJ Maxx — it was more money than my typical purse but WAY less than retail would be for that brand. And as much as I hate to say it, this one does seem better made. It’s sturdier with better materials. Still don’t think I’d drop a couple hundred bucks on a handbag!

Thanks Laura for Sharing Your World! I have heard (no practical experience of course) that the parents of teens are doomed to be viewed as ‘uncool’ no matter what they wear, do or say. It’s also apparently a time when parents suddenly become the last people on earth the kid wants to be seen with. So your answer was perfect! 🙂

Yep, I’ve pretty much accepted this as the status quo. I find it’s a lot less stressful to know up front your kid is mortified when you insist on meeting the guy she’s going to the movies with. No need to expend that precious energy toward trying to make her happy you’re there. 😆😆

Love the way you don’t have to spend days trying to find a cd. Prime even has Mongolian Heavy Metal….
