You hear a lot about entertainment value these days. Sure, it’s a crap movie, but the entertainment value is priceless. I know I’ve got more than a few of these in my arsenal – movies that crack me up but BrightSide equates watching them to root canal. I can’t name any off the top of my head but recently I did watch a comedy special called #IMomSoHard Live that cracked.me.up. Seriously, I was rolling on the floor with the hardcore giggles, but when I played it for BrightSide?
Wah, wah, wahhh.
On a scale of one to ten he ranked it – oh, about a negative four, I’d imagine. I gave him a break after he suffered through the first six minutes or so, but I made him let me fast forward to the improv part of their act. That’s when Kristin & Jen went out into the audience and collected up purses from perfect strangers who let them rifle through them ON STAGE. omg, guys, it’s on Prime, just go find it and watch. It’s pee your pants funny. Except maybe not for men because I dunno, DNA or something, but it was for me. Funny. Wow, this whole paragraph just got away from me, not gonna lie.
I suppose the net message here is we all have our own taste in funny, and we’re probably all convinced our own funny makes the most sense. I know there’ve been more than a few things BS finds hilarious that fell flat with me. Eh, to each their own.
Linda hosts Stream of Consciousness Saturday (with a sub by Dan this week). This week’s prompt is “ent” “ten” “net.” Use one, use two or use all three (bonus points for using two, double-bonus points for using all three). As Linda would say, use ’em any way you’d like. Enjoy!
I like pee pants funny. Don’t like the pee pants though.

Agreed. There’s chilliness. And chafing. 😆😆

Yep, one person’s funny is another person’s insult or yawn. Can’t win with comedy, but then maybe winning isn’t the point. 🤔

Absolutely not. Not for winning, more for giggling until sides hurt and there’s a very real chance of pee leakage. 😆

Partner and I had a meeting in the middle where a few shows made us both laugh. Like our Outnumbered. But often it was painful for the other. I would watch Soap or Monty Python with a scowl from my partner.

Oh yes, agreed. There are some shows we both find hilarious, but some stuff he watches is hideously painful. PAINFUL. I’m certain he feels the same way about some of mine.

If it makes you laugh, it’s funny. Unless it’s not really funny. Humor is an amazing thing, but I think it’s one of Good bar song most important things in our lives. Double BPs credited to your account with Linda. Thanks for playing along. I hope you enjoy the weekend.

Male and female humour is definitely different, Laura. And then there are some of us whose sense of humour is rather strange, like me. So we just don’t fit in with anyone else on what is funny. Great post.

Thanks. There are definitely days when I feel like my humor is out of step with everybody around me…

You’re so right. What’s hilarious to women doesn’t even merit a smile from men and what they find so so funny, I would say, hah!

Oh yeah. He played a standup comedian act for me that was PAINFUL – after about 10 minutes I stopped even pretending to watch and just buried myself in blogging. He was flummoxed. 😉
