From what I’m reading this is a common theme these days. Don’t know if it’s the stress of impending holidays or that NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) thing – no, I’m not participating because nope nope nope – but lots of us are rolling around out here with big white space staring at us.

Looks like modified stream of consciousness it is.

“But you’ll come back each time you leave
‘Cause darling I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream”

Give 2014 a listen, folks. There’s lots of internet speculation about who inspired these lyrics but I tend to be a little fluffier when it comes to my Taylor Swift indulgence. The video’s an entertaining look at relationship rollercoasters from the crazy girl perspective. Good times.

Which leads me to a Taylor Swift song I had on repeat this summer.

“You just need to take several seats and then try to restore the peace
And control your urges to scream about all the people you hate
‘Cause shade never made anybody less gay”

This thing had me from day one – fun beat, catchy lyrics, good hook – but then Bear showed me the video and BAM! I ÜBER loved it. Because nothing says you need to calm down about these folks over here living their own lives like a great sound with terrific visuals.

And no “Blank” list would be complete without a Gross Pointe Blank reference.

“When everything feels all over
Everybody seems unkind
I’ll give you a four-leaf clover
Take all worry out of your mind”

This is one of my favorite songs from the movie, running right up there with “Rudie Can’t Fail” by The Clash and “Mirror in the Bathroom” by The Beat. It’s an awesome soundtrack. If you’re looking for an entertaining romp about an assassin who attends his 10-year high school reunion then this is the movie for you.
