What’s your remedy for the Holiday blues?
Snuggling up with the fur babies is always a boost. Music, too – but not holiday music. If I’m trying to kick the holiday blues I’ll blast loud, fun, danceable tunes. Singing along at the top of my lungs is a bonus.
Your favorite beverage (if it differs) during the holiday season? If it doesn’t differ, just answer the ‘what’s your favorite beverage” part.
I can’t really say my go-to drinks change this time of year, but I will say gem passed along a nifty little recipe for White Christmas Margaritas. Ask me again in January and I’ll let you know if I have a new favorite beverage.
This one has been asked before, but what’s your take on pumpkin spice?
I’m not a fan.
Is there is a person or god connected with your holiday?
Yes, there is. And I really like the way you asked this question.
- Who are they and do you believe in them? We celebrate Christmas, a Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus. Yes, I believe in Jesus and God and the tenets of the Christian faith.
- If you do not believe in these people or gods, does the celebration/honoring of that being, bother you in any way (e.g., ignored, dismissed, angry, etc.)? Tweaking this one slightly, several religions celebrate important holidays in November/December – Hanukkah, the Islamic holiday celebrating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, and the Buddhists’ Day of Enlightenment, to name a few. It doesn’t bother me to see other people celebrating their faith, although people who aren’t Christian may feel differently about being immersed in such a Christmas-centered culture this time of year.
Share a song that you enjoy during this Winter season (whether it’s Christmas, Hanukkah, The Winter Solstice, Kwanzaa and so forth).

Thanks Laura for the glimpse into your holiday. It sounds lovely. White Christmas Margarita hmmm? I’ll watch for that recipe, because although I don’t drink alcohol, I BET there’s a ‘virgin’ version available! 🙂

I’ll bet there is. I was looking through other recipes today — I’m pretty sure that one was on delish.com. Mmm…

What a great song. I went into our biggest supermarket once and asked for Pumpkin Spice. Was told they didn’t sell it. When I did find some and tried it – I can understand why they didn’t sell it. Do you put lots of decorations up?

I used to think we put up lots of decorations but I’ve been to houses — and I don’t mean this as unkindly as it’s going to sound — where it looks like Christmas threw up on every surface. Mine is more lots of things sitting around, scattered among my regular stuff, and I mix in winter decorations so it doesn’t become desperately bare in January. We hang wreaths on a few windows but no giant draping garland or that sort of thing.
