What was the single best thing that happened in your life this past year?
We moved. Between loving our new home and spending about 75% less time on the road for just about everything this move has been life changing in all the best ways.
The most challenging?
Yeah…nope. Can’t do it. Let’s just say parenting isn’t for wimps.
One thing you learned in 2019?
Bombas makes a kickass no show sock and they donate item for item on anything you buy. It’s a win/win.
Given all your experiences, insights, and lessons learned in 2019, what’s the best advice you could give yourself for 2020?
Go to bed at a decent hour, eat clean, drink plenty of water, and practice mindfulness.
Write every day.
Take a deep breath. Then take another. Then respond.
Be kind.
What’s the best meal/food you ate in 2019?
Slow roasted turkey breast with homemade gravy and the best damn mashed potatoes ever. The fact that it was some random Tuesday in October made it even tastier.
What are three activities you plan to use in the coming year to relieve stress?
Get more sleep on a regular basis, therapeutic massage, and daily time off screens.
What brought you the most joy and are you going to do more of that?
I struggle with “most” because, well, I’m me. I’ve gotten joy from snuggling with fur babies and writing so I’d be a fool not to do more of that. Some of the most deliciously joyful moments, though, come when I’m hanging with BrightSide and the kiddos and we’re just kicking back.
Lastly – Any resolutions you’d care to share?
Okay, truth time. I knocked it out of the park exercise-wise in September and October, but November kicked my butt and then December drove me right off a cliff. It may sound cliche, but in 2020 I’ll be getting back on the horse and back in the gym.

There was a few best things, but choosing one would be the birth of the newest grandchild. Another grandson. Spending time with him is something that brings me joy, and is part of what I’ll do more of in 2020.
Most challenging, my sister and her Alzheimers.
What I’m going to tell myself to do, quit worrying so much, especially about things I can’t control or change. I tell myself this every year. Happy New Year to you and your family.

A new grandchild definitely earns top billing! I’m sorry about your sister, Alzheimer’s is really hard. Sending wishes for a new year filled with love, strength, and less worrying. 💛
