Where do you get your news?
While I’m getting ready each morning I ask Alexa to tell me the news – that gets me headlines from AP, NPR, CNN, and Reuters then I’ll search out details on anything that grabs my attention. I listen to NPR in the car and while working in the kitchen. I get most of my breaking news updates off twitter then follow up on a major news outlet. The only time I really watch cable tv these days is if there’s something major happening and I want analysis – Cuomo Prime Time and Don Lemon are my favorites.
What ‘old person’ thing do you do?
- I still use Facebook. I know why I should give it up, I just can’t seem to make myself do it.
- I take naps like it’s a religion and I’m the head nap guru.
- I downsized when we moved, but prior to that I stockpiled no less than 8-10 boxes of Jell-O gelatin mix despite the fact that nobody in the house ate it.
- 99% of the time I layer sunscreen under my makeup. Skin cancer, people! How many times do they have to tell you??
When was the coldest you’ve ever been? The warmest?
We visited Canada once and that was cold beyond words. I’m a fan of the beauty but that trip convinced me I’m more an “appreciate the snowy landscape from a fireside bay window” kind of girl. As for warmest, I’m gonna go with Las Vegas. You can talk about the lack of humidity all day long but 110 degrees is 110 degrees and I’m simply not equipped to deal with that.
Do you eat food that’s past its expiration date if it still smells and looks fine?
That depends on the food. I don’t worry about canned goods much at all, but dairy makes me antsy as all get out and meat is a hard no if I’ve missed the deadline.
If you’d like to, please share some gratitude from your life.
I’m kicking off my 49th year on this big blue planet of ours – whoop! whoop! Here, in no particular order, are some of my happy gems: fun martini glasses, warm fuzzy boots, a great concealer, singing along in the car at the top of my lungs, comfy jeans and sweatshirts, Laughing Cow cheese triangles, and Glutino gluten free double stuff Oreos chocolate sandwich cookies that are delightful when dipped in milk. Mmm.

Happy Belated Birthday!
I love winter views from warmth. I hated Las Vegas. You’re right, 110 is 110 and I don’t like ovens any more than I like saunas!

Thanks Laura for participating in Share Your World this week! 😀 Happy Birthday too (if belatedly, I wasn’t ‘here’ yesterday). Also, you’re the second or third person to list “Facebook” under “old people’s thing”. 😐 Um. Who knew? I BET Zuckerberg is appalled….. 😛

But oh so good…I’ll just eat a salad tomorrow to make up for it. 😆

I’m pretty sure Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t like your categorizing Facebook as an old-person thing. Poor baby.

So, so sad for him but I’ve been repeatedly assured by my teens that it’s for dinosaurs. I guess that means you can call me madame t-rex. 😆

I prefer Don Lemon to Chris Cuomo, but we occasionally watch both on CNN 🙂

I’ll often watch both (or at least Lemon’s first hour) and almost always enjoy one more than the other. They’re very different personality-wise so I think it depends on my mood.

Most try that Oreo thing. Coming from Yorkshire our thermometers only go up to 80. We get national heatwave health warnings at 85.

That seems like sound national policy to me!
