What age would you like to live to?
No idea. You’ll have to ask me from the other side if I liked the timing.
What mystery do you wish you knew the answer to?
Why some people think cilantro tastes like soap.
Does absolute power corrupt absolutely?
Not necessarily, but I’d say it takes an unusually remarkable person to resist temptations that go along with absolute power. Most of us are a little too human to avoid the pitfalls from that power.
What outdoor activity haven’t you tried, but would like to?
So the longer I thought about this, the longer my answer became. For a non-outdoorsy person I’ve actually tried a wide variety of outdoor activities: skiing, hiking, camping, ATVs, horseback riding, snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing, sailing, deep sea and lake fishing, running, swimming, whitewater rafting, water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing, ziplining, plus some others I’m sure I’ve forgotten. Outdoor activities left strike me as being from the “not a snowball’s chance in hell” category: skydiving, rock/mountain climbing, ice climbing, cave diving, spelunking, cliff jumping, mountain biking, heli-skiing, or hang gliding for example. I’m not unreasonable, though, so if you’ve got a suggestion that doesn’t involve trapping myself in small places, jumping from large heights, or hurtling down mountains at high speeds then I’m all ears.
Please free free to share some gratitude from your world!
My friend shared these clean baking recipes and I have to say they’re pretty darn good. Especially the Copycat Bounty Bars – they are deeeee-li-cious. They’re like Almond Joys without the almonds, and it’s just a shame I’m the only one in my family who adores coconut like I do. [Except not because YUM.] I also made Chocolate PB Protein Bites. Don’t expect them to taste like candy, they’re more like a protein bar bite, and they do a great job holding me over until dinner. So there’s my two snack-y gratitudes for today.

I know the answer to cilantro, it’s like the coffee gene. I’m more interested in the large mysteries like what happens when we die, or what’s on the other side of the moon, and how do I get Laura to send me chocolate covered coconut? I will make my own bars, but lemme know if you get answers to the other.

It was so weird, Joey, when I went to write this my mind went completely blank on mysteries. I mean COMPLETELY blank, like as if there were no mysteries in the world at all. Such a strange, strange feeling. And now I’m going to have to google coffee gene.

I have the coffee/caffeine gene. It affects me, dramatically, and I get withdrawal without it. People talk about it, but not everyone has it. ie, The Mister, who can slurp back-to-back espressos before bed and has no idea what a caffeine headache is.

Great answers for Share Your World! My goodness, I admit to being in awe (I’m sooo not worthy) in your company! You’ve done almost every outdoor activity going! Wow! And the recipes? Sound delicious! Thanks for sharing those! 😀 I love cilantro. I figure the people who natter on about it tasting like soap are merely leaving more for people like me, who find it yummy!

Nice how the world balances out like that, isn’t it. Just like I leave plenty of collards for the folks who like them. Call me a giver. 😆
The outdoor activities thing really is a mystery. I have no idea how I ended up sampling this many things so far in life! Full disclosure, though: “running” would be that year I did high school track & “parasailing” was that one time on vacation…it’s not like I’m a pro in any of that stuff! 😂

Great answers. Almond Joys are excellent, and we are big coconut fans. My wife was buying coconut water long before it was a thing. The cilantro mystery has been solved (you’ll have to come up with another answer 😉 – it’s genetic. Some people have or don’t have a gene that let’s them perceive the smell differently. You can look it up, but it’s not something people can change or get used to.

People seem to feel rather strongly about it. I don’t try to argue. I was making Mojo chicken for burritos on a weekend away and I guess my friend has the soap genetics — I ended up making two separate crockpots because I do love me some cilantro. 😉

I’m in the no cilantro camp. I appreciate people like you who will make separate supplies.

Well, she seemed pretty emphatic about it. That’s why I’d rather ask ahead of time, though.

How long do I want to live ? I will settle for waking up one day at a time. And keep on trying to stumble into the next day. Do that and the rest of these little questions kinda just fall into place on their own.

That is a terrific attitude to take, John. 🙂

I can’t think of a mystery I’d like to know the answer to and it bothers me that I can’t do that. Yours is a perfect answer. How curious that I’m not more curious…

It took a ridiculous amount of time to think of it, though! I checked someone else’s answers late last night — theirs was “what happens after we die” and I was like DUH, how did I miss THAT one??

Love Almond Joys and coconut. In the days of penny candy, Almond Joys were a dime. Talk about savor when one came along.

Ooh, I absolutely love coconut, and Bounty bars, so have had a sneaky peek at the recipe – it looks yum, but the idea that they might last for a month in the freezer made me laugh – I’d never manage to leave them for that long! 🙂

I’m trying to stick to two a day. Considering I’m the only one eating them they might — MIGHT — make it that long. 😉

That’s some list of sports. Puts me to shame.

It was strange, once I started thinking about all the things I’ve *tried* the list was much longer than I expected it to be. The hubby has a good deal to do with that — he’s a very “we’re on vacation, let’s give it a try” kind of guy. But skydiving? He’s on his own. 😆

One of my friends went skydiving. He tripped getting into the plane and broke his wrist. He told everyone he had a hard landing from 2000ft, in reality it was a hard landing off the bottom step.

Why do I know that would be me.
