Well, that’s mighty cheeky of you!
I may not be British but I find this phrase delightful. We do embrace rather irreverent humor around these parts – that’s one of the best things about having teens, really, the fact that their humor extends beyond Spongebob and fart jokes. Don’t get me wrong, they still think fart jokes are a riot, but they also appreciate my particular sense of humor.
I’ll be the first to admit it can be a bit…unorthodox. But I think cheek is a skill. If you only laugh at pies in the face you’re missing a whole bunch of layers of the funny and what kind of life is that? A non-cheeky life, that’s what.
Bah humbug.
Linda hosts Stream of Consciousness Saturday. This week’s prompt is “cheek.” Use it as a noun or a verb. Enjoy!
I was once quite well known for my cheeky humor. Some didn’t appreciate it, but that was mostly because it was aimed at them. We called it mooning back in the day.

“mooning” – that’s perfect! I often find that someone’s sense of humor can be under appreciated by the people around them. I also find it usually has little to do with their humor and more about who’s on the receiving end!

Humour and laughing keeps us both sane and young at heart, if not in body!

And I can certainly use both of those things! 😉

LOL – indeed, there’s more to life. But … it is funny to laugh at a fart sneaking out in setting that you normally wouldn’t want that to ever happen, and the more you laugh, the more you toot. It may be an over 55 thing?! Thanks for the smile today! I hope you’re off to a wonderful, laughter-filled week!

Oh no, I don’t think that’s an over 55 thing at all! And boy oh boy, nothing makes my kids roar like hearing a [ppffftt] during a quiet moment in the church service. 😆

LOL! Okay, you’re right and I think that’s funny too – your kids are wise for their age :-)!

I think you either love them or you don’t — there’s no “growing out of it” to be done!

Sounds terribly dreary to me… 😉

My grands are still often in the Sponge Bob, fart jokes stages. I happily await their growth away from that stage.

Nope, don’t miss it. We were watching the kids’ area at church last week and a boy drew all the Sponge Bob and Gary and sang the theme song and I was never so grateful to have teenagers in my life. 😆😆

I have teens to 9 year olds. The teens are a different breed to be sure.

can one be chic and cheek simultaneously ? Is it unsincerer to say the cheek is in the mail ? Do hockey coaches cheek check ? Scratch that question. Now where was I ? hmmm come to think of it some of these prompts require moderation.

Well, I felt this was the PG version of a cheek prompt. Honestly, Linda really left the door wide open on that one, didn’t she. Can’t wait to pop out and see what other people posted.

Love your take on the challenge!
I have to say I am slow to catch puns so often it takes a while ….

Life just isn’t the same without a good dose of cheekiness or gasiness.

I think we’ve done okay passing it on, thank goodness. The art teacher tells me how much he loves that my kid gets his humor. 🙂

I’m Yorkshire. An enclave in Britain. To get a passport you need to be full on cheeky. Not sure Imever got much further than fart jokes and Spongebob.

Gotta admit, I love the idea of a cheeky evaluation before they’ll issue a passport! 😆
