“Coffee, tea, or me.”
I’m supposed to blog on this or another flirty phrase and I’ve never felt so old. Another flirty phrase? I can’t figure out what to do with this one let alone think of more.
I can say I’ve never uttered this particular word combo. I’m struggling to hear it as “flirty” too – I figure there’d have to be significant eyelash batting involved and frankly I don’t have great lashes.
I do love some Great Lash mascara, though.
I think the lack of flirty phrases thing is because of my dating history. I was one of those serial monogamists – you know the type, one relationship at a time, and if I’m being honest not enough time alone figuring out who I was.
Then I met BrightSide in college and that was that. No online dating, no happy hour bar scenes, no speed dating to meet folks. Looks like I missed the flirty phrase stage.
Linda hosts Stream of Consciousness Saturday. This week’s prompt is “coffee, tea, or me.” Find a flirty phrase of your own or use “coffee, tea, or me” in your post. Have fun!
I always take great pleasure in declining a date. No thank you is what I say, but Hell no is what I think. Dating was never my favorite thing. People people always wanting to people out in the people places as if more people made people things more fun. So exhausting. I hadn’t planned to marry and felt I didn’t really need the trials. Life is funny.
Coffee, tea, or me, is something I’d never say, either.

Hell no is my default energy a lot these days. People people way overestimate the amount of fun I’ll have doing the things that are fun for them. Ugh.

“….not enough time alone figuring out who I was.” rang a bell for me. I finally got to do that in my late 40s. But you’re better off having met BrightSide and figuring it out as part of a team.

It still took me decades even with the hubby by my side. Then again I’ve always been a bit stubborn about personal growth… 😆

It never ends, though maybe it has slowed down a little. 🙂

Like me. Mary and I were married a couple of weeks after I graduated (mid-year 1978) and have been married since. And as I said in mine, thank heaven. If I hadn’t been married that soon, I doubt I would have ever…

Oh yes, very true. I’ve often said if I have the poor luck to outlive my hubby there’s no way I’d go back into the dating scene!

Same here – no flirty phrases for us, either. And guess it all worked out okay for the whole 50 years so far. haha 🙂

Yep, think that one’s passed me by unless I turn out to be one of those flirty senior citizens. 😂

I never got into the flirty line stuff either. I don’t think I missed anything.

As long as you end up with “THE ONE” the flirty phase or phrase aren’t that important.

That’s what we’ll go with then. 😆
