Are you a clean or messy person?
I’d say I’m a clean but cluttered person. I can’t stand sauce splashed across the stovetop yet a pile of mail, folders, and coloring stuff hangs around for weeks on end.
If I asked you to describe yourself in five words – what would they be?
Creative, loyal, open-minded, perceptive, self-aware.
Do you enjoy being out in nature?
98% yes. I enjoy a great many things about The Nature™ – so many it’s impossible to list them all. It’s simpler to say that 2% involves snakes, enormous spiders, high pollen counts, stinging insects, munching mosquitos, and heat indexes over 100.
What could you spend all day talking about?
Fur babies, photography, Black Lives Matter, cooking, and random binge worthy tv shows.
Please feel free to share some gratitude from your life! Thanks!
After taking a full week off from running I managed to complete yesterday’s excursion without collapsing in the street or strangling the obscenely perky woman cheering us on from her driveway.
The girl declared my veggie packed stir fry her favorite meal of all time. That stuff has onions, carrots, red pepper, broccoli, and zucchini – this is serious growth for the girl who wouldn’t touch a vegetable for years.
We rediscovered the joy of puzzles last week.

Thanks Laura for Sharing Your World!! That stir-fry sounds very healthy and kudos on your daughter’s maturity in eating her veggies and not carping about it. I have a sibling who was a long-distance runner in high school . He told me that it’s a bad idea to stop, if running is something one wants to embrace as a life style. Because you have to go through the whole process all over again – getting used to it and getting to the ‘good part’. Me? I NEVER understood it. I get the benefits and the good health that comes along with it, but for me it was always dry heaves and a wish to die for at least two hours after a run. I did it maybe three or four times and said “Nope.” I applaud your fortitude!!

Yeah, we took the week off because a) I refuse to torture myself on vacation and b) the roads there are way too hilly and narrow so they’re not safe for walks/runs. I’m not a believer in the “good part” either. There’s been a point on every run so far when I tell my daughter “I hate being healthy dammit” and that pretty much sums up that. 😆

Conversation between a big hairy spider and a snake. “I love nature except when that human comes around.” “I know right? I was having a good time in the flower bed and it scared the crap out of me by sitting down.””I tried running across the dock and there it was. Thought I was going to lose the babies.”

I so want to try that stir fry as well.

You should! I was surprised she loved it so much since it’s from a “clean” cooking website so it’s healthier but she swears it’s the best stir fry she’s had. Good luck!

Great answers. I’m glad you didn’t attack the cheerleader, but I would have given you a pass if you had. Good job on the veggies.

I, too, am patting myself on the back for that one. It’s a friendly neighborhood & it’s honestly all I can do to throw up a hand and gasp good morning as I sweat through that run. A lady cheering GO GO GO was a little much for 8am. 😂

yay to the run and the well-received meal. as for those giant spiders….

I haven’t seen one of those on the dock for at least two years but you can bet I’m looking for them all the freaking time. Those things have permanently scarred me.

Thanks, Claudia. It’s one of those meals that everyone enjoys so that always feels good. My son went back for a THIRD bowl last night — he’s in a big growth spurt stage right now. 🙂

Yey! For completing the run. I don’t like that 2% either.

We are celebrating the small successes. I celebrated that one with ice cream yesterday. 😆

Your 2% are on my list of why nature isn’t always my go to.

Right?! The annoying part is often there’s no way to predict when they’ll pop up. I can be enjoying a lovely morning feeding fish at the lake and BAM! up pops a scary spider skittering across the dock. So not okay.

I was replanting in my yard yesterday and a very large, very scary black widow crossed my path. I am not usually afraid of spiders, but he made me leave my task for some deep breaths.

YIKES. A few months ago I was weeding out a flower bed when a (tiny) snake slithered out from right where I was sitting. Scared the life out of me. I haven’t been able to get back in that bed since. 😳
