I typically avoid listening to this man speak on principle but you’ve got to dig in and play these three minutes, you really do. Go on, I’ll wait.

Okay, ready? It took me a minute to process this train wreck. Oh, who am I kidding, I’m still trying to make sense of it but we don’t have all day so let’s go.
- You gotta love a commander in chief who shows up to an interview toting his own charts.
- Jonathan Swan’s enthusiastic “I’d love to!” is every parent’s response to their kid’s 50th “come see my Lego project!” plea.
- Trump shuffling through those papers was me stalling for time during a class presentation because the teacher asked follow-up questions.
- “Oh, you’re doing death as a proportion of cases, I’m talking about death as a proportion of population.” “You can’t do that.” Umm…yeah. Yeah, he can. It’s called reporting.
- Watching Swan try to explain the relevancy of percentage of population data is like…wow. Just wow.
- “We’re last. Meaning we’re first!” – Swan taking that second chart with a weary “okay” is all of us.
- “And because we do more tests we have more cases.” OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
ahhhh! since inspirational political leadership

I think someone needs to start working on a drinking game. “more tests = more cases” take a shot. “you’re not doing your job” take a shot. “but look at my pretty shiny bar graph!” SHOTS ALL AROUND! 😆

The school statistics are eye opening.
The interview is cause for head banging and not the musical kind. And yet so many believe — or possibly just do not have the capacity to understand. These days, I am more disgusted by those who surround and support him than I am shocked by what he says.

True, Maggie, the people who refuse to see the truth are a huge problem. I struggle to understand how anyone can watch something like this and not gasp. Denial is a strong motivator.

It’s a staggering interview. What was he thinking of. Clearly not much.

He’s unable to speak intelligently on a number of subjects but is protected by a circle of buffers at the White House. They just need to keep doing this – sit him down in a room one on one with a reporter who asks simple, straightforward questions. His dancing around should do the rest of the work for us.

I watched that yesterday, mouth hanging open. I thought he couldn’t say anything that would surprise me anymore. I was wrong.

It was simply astounding. I don’t think we need any attack ads between now and November – just run those kinds of interviews nonstop and expose his inability to form coherent thought to as many people as humanly possible.
