“Healing your wounds will hurt, so cry. Cry your pretty little heart out until you have nothing left to shed, that’s how beauty is grown; through the darkest of our days we become the light.”

Oh, yeah. I remember developing crying into an art form when my husband left our twenty year marriage. The key for me was let it all out but to keep breathing so I wouldn’t get a headache or stomach ache. Sometimes it would turn into chanting. All this happened when the kids were not home, of course.

Oh my word, the keep breathing part of this just hit me. That’s exactly the part I forget when I hit a big crying jag and you’re right, my head pounds afterward. I’ll try to remember this next time. 💛

I learned that the hard way, though it was mostly my acid reflux and stomach that needed the breath. Also learned to relax my face. The whole body gets a workout in a big crying jag. Hope you go a long time between them.

I love this quote. Just when I needed it most.
