She says take it easy, you’re not going for a world record here. They never listen, running full tilt, more often than not tumbling head over tail on the asphalt and scraping up their knees. Knobby knees. Knees that stubbornly fight attempts to clean and bandage so the blood drips down and the tears go on. She says you’ll be okay, go grab an icee pop and they believe.

(Those were the days, weren’t they? When kids believed we had it under control, no matter what? I think the cat’s out of the bag on that one.)

She says eat your veggies, get good sleep, remember to exercise and get some fresh air every day. She says life’s too short to shortchange your body’s needs so take care of yourself. You’re important. You’re needed. You show up as exactly the you the world needs.

She says remember you’re loved, but sometimes she forgets to take her own advice.

Linda hosts Stream of Consciousness Saturday. This week’s prompt is “close eyes and point.” When you’re ready to write your post, open a book, a newspaper, or whatever is handy and close your eyes and point. Whatever word or picture your finger lands on, make that the basis of your SoCS/JusJoJan post. My finger landed on “she says” in an “Essence” article.
