If the government offered to suspend all laws, and law enforcement for 24 hours, letting you (and everybody else) do whatever you wish… Would you be in favor of it, or not? (Credit for this question goes to Cyranny and her Daily Quickie Question)
Absolutely not. I used to be in a place where I might have answered yes to this. Twenty-four hours of people being able to get what they need without paying for it sounded like a pretty good thing to me, but now? I’ve seen the kind of violence people are capable of committing while (supposedly) under the threat of repercussions from law enforcement. I think a twenty-four hour window of lawlessness might be all that’s needed for Parler folks to take out our government.
What would be the creepiest thing you could say while passing a stranger on the street? (We’re suspending the whole social distancing and Covid involvement in this scenario.)
Mmm, you smell…earthy.
As a child, what did you think would be great about being an adult, but isn’t as great as you thought it would be?
Being able to buy whatever I want. Sure, it sounds great in theory – no more grownups saying you’re blowing your money on milkshakes and cheeseburgers. I had no idea it meant still wanting the milkshakes and cheeseburgers but having to talk yourself out of buying them. Ugh.
What, in your opinion, has been blown way out of proportion?
CANCEL CULTURE!!!!! (Did I do that right? Screaming in all caps?)
Where is your ‘happy’ place?
Looking out over the water. It can be lake, pond, stream, or ocean – just the view lowers my blood pressure.

Earthy? As in rich black loam, or as in – other kinds of earth?
Your happy place is the same as my happy place. I hope this year I am able to visit my happy place on the coast at least once.

Those were the days, weren’t they? We haven’t been to the lake since last summer. I think it’s mostly because I’m worn down — if I bring all my food with me then we wouldn’t even need to go to the store there but after making it through the week I just want to crash and relax on the weekends.

Thank you Laura for Sharing Your World! I presume that the “Mmm..you smell earthy!” is accompanied by a good long SNIFFFFFFFFFFFF, while ogling them too? LOL That’s hilarious and a great answer! hahaha! I’m not going to research it but “cancel culture?” Uh, I’m a bit ashamed to say I don’t even know what that is..
We do get a bit of education every day, don’t we? Thanks again!

Something new, every single day. There seems to be a rash of *very* privileged, *very* white voices screaming Cancel Culture when they experience consequences (the most obvious example would be when Trump was banned from twitter for violating their community standards). Ugh.

Laura, common sense is not all that common. Having been in business, it is amazing to see industries collapse into a small few once they are deregulated (or I should say less regulated). Keith

I agree. I’m always shocked at how rare common sense seems to be.

I sometimes think about how my answers would have changed in my 20s and 30s. Life experience makes a world of difference.
