Seriously, how can it only be 9:30pm?
Yesterday was one of those days that stretched out forever and ever and ever. You know it’s something when seven p.m. feels like ten and nine feels like midnight. The hours were like weeks squished into a tiny time block. I find it disorienting to make sense of that sort of thing so often I’ll just slip from one day into the next like some kind of extra on The Walking Dead.
There isn’t enough concealer in the world to help this look.
Anyway, we had some family stuff going on yesterday and I’ll say this. There are a lot of wonderful people in the world – people who go out of their way to comfort and assist, encourage and strengthen. Covid days are a bear, man, and I was grateful for every single one of those folks yesterday. Bless their whole hearts.
Maybe it’s better not to wear concealer. That’s a whole other tangent, though. I’m thankful you had help, and hope there are much better days ahead.

Thanks, JoAnna. We were lucky in a lot of ways so I’ll take it.

Had a day like that myself. Well, we are still here.

And isn’t that the ultimate goal? I’ll take it, John.

Me too. Trust me, after 79 years it is worth recognizing as an accomplishment.

I get that kind of day sometimes. My solution (which I realize you can’t employ due to having a family that needs your attention and so forth) is to simply give over and go to bed. Whatever the damned clock might say about how ‘early’ it is. I have the reverse phenomenon too though, I’ll think it’s maybe 6:30 pm and be totally shocked to find it’s a quarter of nine…. Umh?

There is a weird amount of time slippage and yes, it goes both ways. So strange. I’ve been grateful my kids are now of an age that if things go sideways they can do fine without me for a few hours. A few weeks ago I had a horrible sinus thing and I was struggling to make them breakfast before online classes started so both of them were like mom, why don’t you go back to bed, we’re fine. And I did. Teens can be tough but they come with perks. 😉

Laura, I hope you had a nice restful night. I would not know about the concealer. But, I am glad you saw some of those helpers do their thing yesterday. Keith

Yeah, I’ve always found concealer to be a makeup “tool” while for others it’s some kind of magic wand. Could have a direct correlation to the crazy in these nights. 😆

Laura, as I have found at my age, there are no magic wands. With my thinned and thinning hair, the concealer I use is called a cap. Keith
