How well do you know your next-door neighbors? Do you like them? (credit to Cyranny for the question)
In our old house we knew all (okay, 98%) of our neighbors well. In this one we’ve spoken more in passing but I like our neighbors; they seem like nice people.
Do you have a full length mirror? (credit to Sadje for the rest of the questions)
Yes. It hangs on the back of my closet door so I can see if I’ve put together a bizarre combination of clothes and/or shoes. It’s gotten very little use over the last year but somehow I’m okay with that.
(for the men) Do you shave every day or do you like the ‘stubble’ look, or a beard?
Ha! I’m out.
(for the ladies) How long do you spend putting on make-up in the morning?
Generally speaking, none. In covid times I’ll smooth on moisturizer with sunscreen and that’s pretty much it. If I’m on a zoom call I might add concealer and mascara – I’ll throw in liquid eyeliner if I’m feeling really spunky (or if I’m exhausted and trying to hide it). So basically five/ten minutes tops.
How many items of clothing are in your bedroom (or closet) and not hung up?
You caught me on a good day. I finally got irritated with the PJs I tend to toss on the edge of my tub and put everything up. On the average day, though, you’ll find a couple of pairs of pajama pants and a sweatshirt lying near my sink. It’s not a great habit.
Do you have a happy place?
On the water. Well, technically not on the water because boats are definitely not my happy place. More like near the water so I can look out on it.

Damn hooligans indeed. 😆 Now you’ve got me wondering what’s happening behind those doors.

Thank you Laura for Sharing Your World! I’m guilty of the “pj” habit, only I wear a nightgown. You’ll find it lying over the edge of the tub or on the sink, and sometimes it stays there all day. I’m just glad nobody drops in anymore, it’s embarrassing (to me) to have evidence that one is too lazy to hit the hamper. 😉 No judgment here!! As to the makeup, you make an effort. That’s the important bit….some of us haven’t made any effort since Clinton was in office..
yeah. Have a wonderful week!

I make an effort. Sometimes. Depending on the day. 🤷🏻♀️ I figure we’re all doing the best we can here…

Great answers! I definitely have a pair of pajamas lying around at all times. Besides, I don’t hang my clothes at all, so even those that are in the wardrobe, are lying on shelves and most not really in a neat pile either.

Thanks. Pajama pants, sweatpants, and sweatshirts – all useful for house lounging.

Laura, my wife has long been in the PJ club. If you are not going anywhere….As for the shaving thing, I do shave every day – something about too much salt and not enough pepper in the facial hair. My wife would tell you my happy place is the chair where the sun shines in on. I rotate around the house during the day, so my wife will be looking and asking “where are you?” As the 5th Dimension sang “Let the sunshine in….” Keith

If you have enough sunny locations to rotate through your day then you’re a lucky man indeed, pepper or no pepper. 😊 Happy Tuesday!

Laura, our house is end to end east southeast to west northwest. So, we get that sunshine. Of course, today is the rainiest of days. As for that pepper thing… Keith

I think you could find pajama pants lying around in almost every house in the world right now. It’s probably the most worn article of clothing (maybe sweats). I like the distinction between on and looking out on the water.

It’s an important one to me. Didn’t want to muddy the waters but don’t even talk to me about floating docks. Talk about ruining a good peaceful spot!

Covid times do not facilitate neighborhood camaraderie.

True. I’m not a terribly social person, though, so the truth is living in the old neighborhood was exhausting at time. Don’t know what I’ll do when covid takes away this default privacy. 😉

Most people have found the restrictions on socializing, a blessing in disguise.
