“When I look at George Floyd, I look at…my dad. I look at my brother. I look at my cousins, my uncles, because they are all Black,” Frazier said. “I have a Black father. I have a Black brother. I have Black friends. And I look at that and I look at how that could have been one of them.”

As horrifying as it was, I am thankful that Darnella had the courage and mindfulness to record what happened. We must always remember. Praying for justice and peace.

Agreed. What a terrible thing to have to stand and bear witness to. I pray for justice and yes, peace for everyone who physically watched that murder.

I hadn’t been watching the trial until I read your post today. If I can feel traumatized just by seeing the videos and witnessing the witnesses, it gives me a little more understanding of how terrible is was for those who witnessed the murder in person.

I have not been watching the trial because I did not want to spend these days being angry or crying over the circumstance and horror of George Floyd’s death. I pray that justice is served because it could have been anyone that Mr. Chauvin determined to be less than worthy.

I have a terrible hope/hesitancy thing where I think there’s no way this won’t end in holding Chauvin accountable but then that voice says “but it only takes one.” I’m incredibly anxious about what happens next if we have actual video of a slow motion killing followed by a not guilty verdict.

“that could have been. . .” How can we not realize that we are all brothers and sisters? How can we so readily accept the destruction of life? How can we ? ? ?

I struggle to understand how anyone can look at what happened with anything but horror.
