What do you believe but cannot prove?
That the energy you put out into the world comes back to you.
Do animals have morals? Exclude human beings from the equation please.
Yes, in the sense that their behavior is driven by a pure motivation. Unless humans interfere with fight training a dog attacks to protect their owner. Animals in the wild kill for food, not sport. I can’t think of an example when an animal takes morally questionable action.
Is there inherent order in nature or is it all chaos and chance?
I think there’s an inherent order that might not always be clear to us. I guess I just take it on faith that the chaos all around me would fall into order if we were able to see the whole view from, say, space.
Where is your least favorite place in the world?
Lying in the dentist’s chair, mouth jammed open with two or three blocks, with two sets of hands and/or instruments making it hard to suck any panicky breath into my lungs.
Feel free to share something about the seasons that makes you smile!
I love that there’s something about every season that makes me smile. Flowers blooming in the spring, the relaxed pace of summer, rediscovering how much I like wearing boots in the fall, and cozy winter days curled up watching movies with my family and fur babies. It’s nice to know there’s something positive year round.

I think there are an awful lot of us out here with a healthy aversion to the dentist chair. 😉

It’s a rough one, that’s for sure.

Thanks, Laura for Sharing Your World! It sounds like the dentist is going to take the field as the ‘worst place ever’ for many of us! My dentist now is a great guy though. ‘Laughing’ gas? The greatest thing invented! Wonderful answers to the questions, and I really enjoyed reading your list of why each season is special to you! That was beautiful! Have a wonderful week!

Thanks, Melanie. I haven’t screwed up the courage to ask for laughing gas — probably some old ninny hangover of an idea that it means I’m weak. Think I’ll shove that aside and ask for it the next time I’ve got to have serious work done.

In my opinion you’ll be glad you did ask for it. It just makes things much less traumatic and relaxes most people.

Yes I hated going to the dentist. As a child my dentist was an ex army dentist. Brutal. Now I have the gentlest, nicest dentist.

Finding someone who was receptive to my upfront explanation that I have an incredibly small mouth opening and experience a great deal of pain even during the most benign procedures. Thank heavens I found one.

Laura, the dentist chair is an excellent choice. I also love your answer to the seasons. Speaking of movies to watch, did you ever see “Four Seasons” with Alan Alda and Carol Burnett and a terrific cast. Keith

I’ve learned a lot of coping skills to get through dentist visits but I can’t imagine a day when they’re not stressful.
