I am 100% unable to zoom in on a “least-favorite word.” Don’t know if I’m tired or burned out or scatterbrained or what but this is a hard no go for me. Let’s talk about least-favorite-adjacent instead.
Not a big fan of disappointed. I’m so disappointed in you. This whole thing is such a disappointment. How can you disappoint your family this way? Yep. Nope.
Also not a fan of bloated. No emotional baggage there, I just don’t like the sound of it. Blow-ted. Bloooowww-tteeeddd. Blooaaaattteeedddd. Ugh.
And mealy? Give me a break. How does “mealy” not make your stomach clench just a little?
See also bile, fecal spray, phlegm, giblets, and mucus.
The end.
Linda hosts Stream of Consciousness Saturday. This week’s prompt is “least-favorite word.” Use your least-favorite word in your post. If you can’t decide on one, use a word that just really bugs you. Enjoy!
Wow – Laura, that’s quite a collection of non-palatable words.

English has an amazing number of them once you stop and really think about it. 😆

You (not literally thank God ((sorry Beth)) ) offered us a smorgasbord of non-delightful words. Pass the Alka-seltzer please. *urp*

Those are not positive or enjoyable words in any occasion. I felt bloated last night and, no, not fun or a favorite thing.

It makes me so miserable! Like there’s something attached to my torso that I’m forced to carry. Ugh.

thanks for the mealy examples, as i was eating my breakfast, i realized how bad this word really feels. ) my word is ‘literally’ which is incredibly overused and rarely true

So true. I always stop & think before using it but to be honest I’m still not sure I always get it right!

I think people just have come to use it as an expression of emphasis, not meaning really literally )
