How do you tell if someone has a sense of humor?
It starts with the eyes. Their eyes twinkle and crinkle a bit at the corners. Someone with superior snark can communicate humor merely through an arching eyebrow.
What sort of music do you prefer?
I enjoy listening to my liked songs on Spotify. It’s a diverse collection including Willow’s “transparent,” Janelle Monáe’s “Tightrope,” “Waving Through A Window” from Dear Evan Hansen, and Fall Out Boy’s “Uma Thurman.” That list also includes artists P!nk, Paul Simon, Corinne Bailey Rae, Lizzo, Green Day, Fergie, Lil Mama, The Cure, and yes, even one Miley Cyrus song. Again — eclectic.
Thoughts on gravy or ‘sauce’? Yea or nay?
A definite yes to brown gravy, especially over mashed potatoes.
Would you enjoy a hot air balloon ride?
Absolutely not. I’m 80% sure I’ve been in one so I’ve either repressed a terrible memory or I’ve transferred horrible high-in-the-air experiences to hot air balloons. Either way, nope nope nope. Not a fan of the dangling way up high in the air.
What do you think is widely taken for granted?
Sleeping well. You don’t truly appreciate the restorative quality of really great sleep until you lose the ability to do it every night. Suddenly you feel on top of the world after those rare nights when you log deeply restful sleep.

Thanks Laura for Sharing Your World! I agree with the facial ‘tells’ when someone does have a great sense of humor and the raised eyebrow is something I’ve always envied others for being able to do! I can do it, but it’s a poor imitation. 🤨 heheh The music question answers why our little community in Blogland get along so well. Eclectic! What a great word! 😀 I’m sorry about the hot air balloon, but a lot of people have a fear or heights and/or falling that is difficult to overcome! /and lastly a hearty AMEN to your good sleep answer! I experienced the lack on Monday after that stupid daylights saving time change (it triggers my insomnia). But the times I’ve gotten a great night’s sleep, I am grateful for it! Have a great week!

The Daylight Savings nonsense messes our house all up. My teens at least understand why they’re struggling but the fur babies aren’t on board with it at all. And you’re right, my fear of heights has messed with quite a few experiences. Going up in the St. Louis arch comes to mind — I was flummoxed that the hubby couldn’t feel it swaying so he didn’t understand my nausea and general not-okayness. 🤷🏻♀️

Does that mean “Up up and away in my beautiful balloon” is not on your spotify playlist ? Or it is okay if played firmly on the ground ?

The phrase doesn’t bring a smile to my face. The opposite, actually — felt a little bit of a grimace as I read it. So I’m thinking it’s a no even if played on the ground. 😉
