Share Your World With a Twist – 9/22/20

Welcome to the last week of Share Your World with bonus Harry Potter questions. Hope you’ve had fun!

Share Your World Meets Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows:

Have you ever driven the wrong way on a one-way street? How did this come about?

Thankfully I’ve never done this on a street but I have gone the wrong way into a one-way entrance for a shopping complex. Pretty sure that was due to a bad day along with complete and utter distraction. Not a good combo when you’re behind the wheel.

As a kid, did you ever decide to run away? Did you have a plan? Take a pet? Sandwiches?

Can you believe I have zero memories of doing this? I hear tell that every kid runs away at one point or another but darned if I remember doing it. Bee, remind me if I did.

You suddenly found you have a hidden talent for playing a musical instrument. What musical instrument do you hope that accompanies your talent? Any particular song?

I’d choose an acoustic guitar. It’s portable, sounds fantastic, and can accompany all sorts of music. As for songs, there are just so many I’d love to know how to play. Maybe “Blackbird”?

Do you accessorize with jewelry? There was an opal necklace (cursed) and Slytherin’s locket (also cursed) in the Potter story. Have you had any heirloom jewelry passed down through the generations? Is it more ‘keepsake’ or do you wear it on occasion? (Hopefully, yours was not cursed?)

Yes, I loved accessorizing with simple jewelry in the Before Times. I had a few favorite rings, bracelets, and necklaces that got steady rotation time with my outfits but nowadays my watch is the only thing that I’ve always got on. When covid stripped out the extras it kinda stripped out the accessorizing, too. I have something passed down from my grandma that’s more keepsake but something of my mom’s that I wear on very special occasions.

And now our traditional questions:

What ingredients go into YOUR favorite salad?

A mix of spring lettuce, cucumber, carrots, summer garden tomatoes, sunflower seeds, shredded cheddar, grilled chicken (if it’s a stand alone meal), and a simple dressing of oil and rice vinegar.

If you care to, share something that really irritates you.

Oh boy, you’ve really opened the door on this one. Off the top of my head: when people chew with their mouths open, invading my personal space (especially after I’ve taken a step back to regain it), people in the express checkout with twenty(+) items, when the tv remote stops working for no discernible reason, and people who leave their dirty dishes on the counter instead of putting them in the dishwasher.

What are your favorite ‘lounging around the house’ items of clothing? Now that a lot of people ‘lounge around the house’ waiting for the all clear in respect to Covid being shown the door, have those lounging items changed?

My lounging items haven’t changed so much as my regular public clothes aren’t getting worn. On the plus side I’ve extended the life of my jeans/skirts/dresses/shoes as long as they still fit after quarantine.  😉

GRATITUDE (as always this is optional)

Please feel free to share something about Autumn (or Spring if you’re gearing up for that) that you especially enjoy!

We’ve had a couple of days here with perfect Autumn weather. Temps in the 60s, blue skies, with sun and a light breeze. I’ve been stepping out to sit on the front porch for a little bit each afternoon, something I can never do in North Carolina’s swelter-and-melt-her summertime temps. It’s lovely.

Thanks, John. Talking about salad this much has shifted dinner plans for tonight. Salad sounds like it’ll go perfectly with homemade mac and cheese, right? 🙂

Your answers almost always fit right in with what I would answer it seems. Maybe I’ll play this week. What the heck, don’t feel like working. Except bread must be made, so I’ll do that first.

It really is such a treat to walk outside and *not* sweat through every stitch of clothing in five minutes or less. I should really get the dogs out more while things are pleasant.
