“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
– Gandhi
I look at these pictures of Timberlake Earth Sanctuary and Gandhi’s words echo through my mind.
It’s impossible to walk that land without being fully present. The world around you vibrates with life, and you can feel your heartbeat slow to match nature’s eternal rhythm. The earth’s wonder fills you to overflowing.
Every step you take leads you to another lesson. Somewhere to pause and watch a butterfly. The knotted tree limb that has grown into a curve. Frogs so tiny, if you blink you’ll miss them. Dragonflies hovering above plants, their wings quivering as they sense your intentions.
You take it all in – the sounds, the smells, the warm sunlight and cool shade – absorbing this holy ground’s cadence. With every step, you live a deeper meaning into your day. With every moment of focus on the present, you learn more than you’d imagine about yourself and the world around you.

That looks like an amazing spot to hike!

Oh, it is. I did my best, but words can’t really capture the feeling of that place. Anything is possible there…

Words may not do it justice, but the photos certainly helped!
