Are you an Early to bed, early to rise person, a night owl and day sleeper/dozer, or an ‘I’ll sleep when I’m dead’ person?

By nature I’m a night owl and day sleeper/dozer. There are a lot of reasons this isn’t ideal – BrightSide goes to bed at a decent hour so it cuts into our time together. The kids are, well, kids and deserve a much more alert mom as they’re getting ready for school. Plus there’s that whole “what, are you gonna sleep the whole morning away?” guilt to contend with. But old habits are hard to break so night owl it is.

What are some misconceptions about your hobby, should you have a hobby?

It’s contrary yet true to call writing my hobby. It feels so much more serious than that but seeing as it doesn’t earn me a paycheck we’ll put it in the hobby category.

So here we go with misconceptions about writers: they’re hermits who have no social skills. They drink too much, sleep too little, and are the epitome of “frumpy.” Their characters are more real to them than anybody in their life, and they’re only successful when cranking out two published works per year.

Hola, señora! Did you call for a chilly serenade?

Yeah. Have I mentioned I’m not good at jokes? That’s all I’ve got.

Aliens have landed…do they come in peace?

Absolutely. They’re curious to learn more about this primitive people who are slowly killing the only planet they have.

What are you really, incredibly thankful for this week?

Love, compassion, and moxie. A healthy dose of moxie.

BrightSide, these crazy kids, and our collection of sweet fur babies.

Being blessed with a roof over my head, a warm place to live, and a comfortable bed where I can rest my head at night. Having more food than we need and less struggles than so many people face in America today.

Waking up every day with a healthy body, mind, and spirit.
