1. It’s hot in North Carolina. So hot. So ridiculously, unbearably hot.
2. Plus muggy. So much of the muggy. It’s wring-your-clothes-out-at-the-end-of-the-day kind of muggy.
3. My car was parked outside from 8:00-10:00am yesterday. I’d left the windows cracked in the teensiest tiniest hope that maybe it would ease the pain of reentry, but when we climbed back in the dash read 101 degrees. One hundred and one degrees. At ten in the morning! Come on, man.
4. Science Girl wondered aloud if it’s because my car is black. Maybe. Maybe not. The point was moot as we sweltered away inside this car.
5. I’ve got two words for you: boob sweat. The struggle is real.
6. Weather like this makes dressing up tricky. Too much material and I melt going from the car to the venue. Too little and it’s shiver central in the air conditioning.
7. Shrugs are a girl’s best friend.
8. How many of you guys had to google “shrugs” just then?
9. BrightSide gets a bit snippy when I complain about being hot. To be fair, he’s usually wearing pants and a suit jacket while I moan about overheating in a sundress so he just might have a point.
10. I’m really gonna need all those super sciency brains out there to get working on Chapstick with a higher melting point. We can get that done, right?
I was in north and south Carolina last year in June. I was told it was an unusually hot June. I was ill it was so hot. Heatstroke was trying to take hold at every turn. I was sweating at a pace too fast that I couldn’t drink enough quick enough to keep hydrated. I do not know how you manage.

It seems like every May/June is an unusually hot one these days. The kids make fun of how much “you need to hydrate!” they hear in the summer but you just can’t play around with it in this heat.

Your weather is killer. I went to Carolina country music fest and there was no shade. You Carolina folks are hardy!

Too funny and avid memories from living in Georgia. Moved to Iowa to get out of the heat – now I have snow. But so far I have been able to keep warm…but staying cool…yea, boob sweat is a real thing.

It’s cardigan season. (in the office on, out of the office off)
I’m so glad I live here now. You have my sympathy. It’s hot and humid here, but not like there. Phew!

Yeah, no lie. This nonsense started back in May but it’s really kicking into high gear now. Then again, it was 113 degrees in France last week so I guess there’s always someplace that’s got it worse.

When I lived in Florida, there was always the ‘chocolate melting’ season. This is the time of year when you cannot get a chocolate bar from the grocery store to your car without it melting.
Boob sweat is a real thing. Even if you have lil’uns.

Oh yes, boob sweat does not discriminate. And chocolate melting season is a sad sad thing. 😆

Okay, I Googled “shrugs,” and other than lifting one’s shoulders to express “I don’t know” or “I don’t care,” I’m still don’t know what you’re talking about. Nor can I relate to boob sweat. But can you relate to ball sweat?

Huh. Okay, so for shrugs picture those little lightweight sweaters girls throw on over their dresses/tops so our shoulders don’t get cold. They’re quite useful (although my 13 yr old thinks they’re SUPER geeky). I’m gonna say I can relate to ball sweat only in the sense that those are two B areas that seem happier when they’re nice and dry. Though I guess I shouldn’t make assumptions. 😂

Boob sweat is just the worst. This was s when I wonder who d chided women should wear bras. Okay, so I wonder that pretty much every day. I am a fan of neither hot nor cold – very much a moderate temperature person.

Moderate temps are the best and YES, boob sweat is the worst. Seeing as we live in a state that aspires to hades-like conditions I’ve been known to swipe some Secret under there on sports bra days because OH MY LORD HOW AM I EXPECTED TO CARRY ON UNDER THESE CONDITIONS??

I’ve had a white car and a black car, and I swear it didn’t make a difference in the summer in Florida. No matter what, any time I open the car door, a heatwave blasts me in the face and nearly melts off my mascara.

Aha! There! That right there is my scientifically anecdotal proof!! 😆

🙂 I couldn’t live without shrugs this time of year – hot outside, cold inside!
And I know about the chapstick problem. Wish they’d do something about it!
Have a HAPPY week!
Claudia 🙂

Thank you, Claudia! I hope you have a great week, too. May your chapstick stay ever chilled. 😉

Okay, I confess, I had to google shrug – I have some, never knew what they were called, but NOW I know. Boob sweat, shrugs, and melted chapstick – you’ve painted a beautiful picture for the first day of July! I’d say you are one cool chick! 😉 Happy July, Happy Monday!

I’ll take that compliment, Shelley! 😆 July/August temps usually keep me camped out indoors — I’m definitely more of a spring & fall kind of gal.
