Would you consider yourself creative (writing, projects, hobbies etc)?

I do. I think creatives have brains that just work differently. Mine is mostly verbal — I didn’t find out ’til my 30s that not everybody has chatter constantly running in their head. I admire folks who have the visual creative gene.

What is the ‘bravest’ thing you think you have ever done (faced a fear, stood up for someone/something, etc)?

I have a whole One-and-Done series on being brave enough to try something very outside my comfort zone. Deep sea fishing, parasailing, and scuba diving have all made that list. I don’t know if those outings qualify as brave but they all qualify as facing a fear so we’re going with it.

If you were to come into a substantial amount of money, what would you do with it?

My kids are moving into their young adult era where they adjust their worldview to the money they earn themselves so it would be fun to get them something special that they dream about. There are actually a few young adults in my life like that. But the rest? Brightside and I have always talked about how amazing it would be to create a foundation. There are so many organizations that do life changing work and raising money for their nonprofits is challenging. It would be wonderful to help with many of those causes.

If you could change something that has been annoying you, what would that be?

Let’s see if I can say this without cussing like a sailor…assholes and their f*cking driving behavior. That’s what I’d change because damn, people, it’s a social construct and WE ALL HAVE TO DRIVE ON THESE ROADS.

Okay, kinda failed at that one but it could have been worse.

Gratitude:

My hummingbird community is flourishing and watching them zoom around the backyard is a lot of fun. I often have a cat by my hip while I watch them.💛 Plus the youngest got moved into her apartment relatively smoothly and likes her class schedule and the oldest is looking forward to a trip this fall.
