I’ve shared a number of videos here from Sunnydae Jones. Today I’m going to link her Patreon account which has so much to explore. Just scrolling down the first page she has conversations about Harriet Tubman and Anti-Intellectualism, Reconstruction (two parts), and Intro to African American History. Go pick something you’re interested in and give it a listen.

On September 6 she posted an amazing resource titled The master reading list. Its intro starts with “Resources on racism, anti Blackness, social justice, white feminism, reparations, gentrification, Black American genocide, and more. I used some of these for my lecture on racism at Yale University in 2019.”

This google doc provides a list of podcasts, ideal if you’re an auditory learner or enjoy listening while doing chores or keeping your hands busy with a hobby. I really enjoyed 1619 and am looking forward to learning from more of these. In the google doc Sunnydae has direct links so you can easily find any of these podcasts.

She offers a list of paid workshops for those interested in more in depth or structured learning. Sunnydae also included a list of books/audiobooks covering a wide range of topics in her field. It’s an extraordinary collection of educational resources from vetted sources. I’ve learned so much from this woman (and have so much further to go) — I cannot recommend this post highly enough.

As always, we should be paying Black women for their labor. Sunnydae’s venmo is @wildginaa. You could also shop her small Black woman owned business at shop.wildgina.com. Her nature photography is stunning.
